I think these songs would be better without the low effort pop/rap drivel from such modern day gems as "Lil West" and "Sophia Black". These guys clearly take music seriously as an art form, so why work with people who don't?

why do you think rappers or pop singers dont take music seriously? if you dont like pop or rap, you could just as easily say that without the snobbery added. ppl work with who they want to work with to either to capture a message or vibe in that particular song, or just because they want to

@@MikJames-d1g pop has always been low effort, the classic meme of "learn 4 chords and play 95% of pop songs" definitely hasn't changed so I'm not sure what your worldview is on pop to have formed that opinion. Rap has never really been low effort, and if it ever was, it was by people trying to disingenuously scoop into the genre without any respect for it and that never goes well for the artist. Again, I don't know what you're listening to that led you to this conclusion but you should probably start listening to more rap music bc there are countless "new" rappers that push the genre forward or even keep older styles of rap alive in a new age

@M4nnyfresh14 Chord progressions may have been relatively simple in pop, but no it wasn't low effort overall. Some thought used to actually go into songwriting and people actually played instruments back in the day. You can't compare modern day drivel to the classics like MJ, Prince, or Cher... Metal on the other hand has always been great, and still is.
