Throwing in a different perspective... Before lights and lift. Go watch how a vehicle performs with traction control with proper tires. For example, watch how some of the old flatfenders do in MOAB with lockers compared to some of the Rubicon's. Those old flatfenders don't really have any torque or horse power in comparison. But then we drive brick shaped vehicles that don't get great gas mileage, nor have much in torque and horsepower either. Just some thoughts. 😜🤣

It'll be interesting over time how my '87 OEM track bar bracket holds up as a friend of mine who is a retired Boeing employee used his drill press to enlarge the mounting hole for my RE1600 as there was no slop as he took time to do it proper. I have watched how some merely took a bit and large drill motor to simply bore it out. I concur on the "sleeve" adjustment as pictured at time stamp 06:27 probably isn't strong as it could be if it had been on a more solid threaded inner rod with locking nuts. Yet I was fortunate that a shop that did my alignment adjusted mine for me though I did the initial install and measurements on the toe to get it there. I disclose that my rig will merely be used on forestry roads and not for use in rock crawling, and that I inherited it with the lift half installed. RE springs, leaves and tires installed with chewed up front tires as they didn't even bother with the toe. Much less anyone could see the front tires were off as the trackbar wasn't considered. Do I mention that they did replace the bushings on the stock sway bar ends, but those were chewed up by the tension from the front tracking being far off. I resolved this my installing a RE kit at the same times as the track bar. All these parts effect each other as the geometry changes and is supposed to be done together as it all works together. Lift is not about looks, its about function. Also consider tires size as this is why one lifts, and if you need to regear. If you regear, consider traction devices while your at it and a possible brake upgrade.

captain waggy- I have read about that, but I'm not sure how it will affect my warranty. I sprung for an extended warranty(Not so sure I should have now) so I'm not sure I want to do any mods that aren't easily reversible.

I will be doing a 1000 mile review soon. Still no regrets buying the bike, wish I had more time to ride it.

Seat height is tall. I'm 6'0 and I have trouble planting my feet sometimes. I am definitely buying a lowering link for the klr. Also, the kickstand is a bit longer than I like. Its hard to park the bike on any shoulder due to most crowns in the road. The bike is still a great bang for buck and plenty of fun. After riding in the dirt, I do plan on switching to a different tire with a more aggressive pattern.
@staninjapan0710 жыл бұрын
Thanks. How do you find the height? I heard it is a 35 inch seat height, which scares the sh1t out of a 5 foot 6 inches rider like me. Thinking of one of these though. Currently have the 2012 DL650 V-Strom and I just love it.

Not bad. I take it this is your ZJ in the video then. I swapped my 249 with shot viscous coupler out and put a 231 in a couple months ago. I am thinking about putting an aussie or spartan in the front dana 30. Did you ever break axle shafts in the front with the aussie?

What size lift and tires are you running? Nice setup not too overboard or expensive looking but still perfectly capable...I've got a rc front to rear swap I'm waiting to put in just wondering if this is about the same 3.5" but it looks like you may be running more than 31's? Still nice setup though just curious. Thanks man, you should make some new vids too
