That is a very clean looking Mizuno. Just goes to show that sometimes the density of the shoes foam can make it feel more cushioned, not just taller. Great video.

lol. stack on that 1080. 27 mm. stack on that Escalante 3... 26 mm. say what bro? those shoes feel quite similar as well. that 1080 v12 is like a racer vs. the insane high stacks on shoes these days. theyre both lower, softer, flexible & not really rockered. but the 1080 actually has a heel bevel, actually fits a human foot, and is just way higher quality than anything altra makes. likely last twice as long as well. that knit upper is money as well. even the drop between them isn't far. it's about 1 mm maye 2 mm more on the 1080. not noticeable by anyone, ever. you couldn't have chosen anything more similar if you tried. very odd choice for "contrast."

when a salesman says a "smidge" firmer, the translation is Altra did an Altra and ruined the shoe. Again. Altra is one stead downhill tumble. Everything they do is getting worse and worse, half the customers already left for other brands. VFC will milk it some more than sell the husk to another holding co.

To each their own, but I actually prefer most of the distinctive colorways of the 7, which I can get at a decent discount. The color layering in the midsole disguises their max height better than the 8, which I find less interesting. Still, since the cushioning is improved, I may check them out next year.

Having to go up a half size (in Wide width) for the Wave Sky 6, I did the same for the 7, and they have just a bit more width and length than I need. I then bought another pair with medium width and true-to-size, for a more snug fit. I like their styling/colorways too... sort of a modern take on the dad shoe, although since the midsole is divided, they don't seem as extreme as Hoka Bondi 8 nor NB More V4. Unlike those, I'm OK with rocking these casually, especially since their heel-to-toe transition is buttery smooth & cloudlike when walking, yet stable enough for peace of mind. Very good review other than you not trying it yet, now I was looking for this shoe a year ago and will not use the bondi cuz exactly what you said it is now the real old guy standing shoe or walking you hit it for sure, im 63 I'm nursing and injury but I prefer cushioned shoes so I can go further even if slower so at the end of the run I'm not to beat up, I hoping this is it, now I would rather run trails and i do run about half trail and half road , I tried the mach 5 in my last 21k and it wasn't good for 13 miler but for 6 miler yes but again that's me, im really thinking seriously about this shoe of not to ugly and by the way I have 2 pairs of clifton 9s and they are my go 2s, but looking for a softer midfoot or all around softer but not clown shoe(bondi). Just started listening, but it's ugly color

I own 3 pairs of auroras. One I retired at 500 miles, and two I have 150 miles each on. I own this glycerin gts, and have purchase 2 other nitrogen infused brooks shoes. My problem is I find them just too firm. Why can’t they make something similar in feel to the aurora, or make an aurora 2

Great review and it's a good point that Mizuno are not trying to mix their lines up and keeping the Rider traditional in the main while tweaking what its fans already like. For me the rider is the shoe I can abuse, and having wide feet I've always found it gave me the space I needed without slipping. Never thought of them as narrow before!

I agree with the fact that the colors are terrible, only the racing shoes are decent and good looking. Finally.

I actually do find that, even on the original fit shoes, the altra is pretty narrow in the mid-foot so the wide fit seems ideal for me. Shame it only comes in 2 models and only 1 colour (and ugly ones at that) for each. Seems like altra are moving more towards the typical shoe fit every year which is baffling to me. Their competative advantage has always been it's unique fit, without that they're just nike without the budget.

What’s the best for walking with very high arch and arthritis

I have the Arahi 6, and I had to buy them half a size larger than what I usall buy. Usually I buy my shoes in size 8 UK but the Arahi 6 I had to buy them in 8.5 UK. Do you think I should buy the Arahi 7 in 8 Uk or 8.5 UK ? since my Arahi 6 are half a size larger than example my Nike shoes.

i love the new balance 860 v14. my first stability shoes. it really helps me in my runs. the only cons that i can think of is that its not that breathable like the other shoes.

I have a pair of these, they look brand new after a year and 500 miles. Buying a new pair just for good measure but I will keep my old pair to use for walking,etc. Worth the money.

I have had two pairs of Mach 5’s and I was thinking about getting the Mach 6. After watching this video, I’m seriously considering the Skyflow. I wear an 11.5 US men. Does the Skyflow fit like the Mach 6? Also, I’m training for an Ultra right now. Would you take the Skyflow over the Mach 6?

ive seen alot of reviews showing the MAX wont last long and after 100 miles very noticeable wear on the trend?. Im return my max and going back to the ghost 16 after 2 20 mile runs the show doesnt look like it will hold up as long as the ghost 16. I have some pics of both side by side the tread on the ghost 16 seems to be 3 to 4 times thicker than the max? any thoughts? I dont want to have to buy new shoes every 3 months or less because the shoe wont last?
