Let's Talk Together

If you are struggling with grief, it is because something in your world has drastically changed, knocking you off your feet. Whether you expected it or it took you by surprise, events that cause you trauma and/or significant loss need to be grieved. Grief can often bring up old events which were not dealt with at the time.

Coaching or counselling? These are similar because a skilled practitioner helps us sort out the cognitive and emotional problems that worry us.
Briefly,
Counselling is more long-term, can deal with complex emotional issues & is diagnostic; sometimes part of a medical team.
Coaching is often short-term, client-directed, focused on a main concern such as grief & builds awareness & skills leading to a stated outcome.

Thanks for posting this, Cathy. I have struggled with people asking for things I accomplished in 2024 and what my big plans are for 2025. I haven’t made any resolutions; like you, I stopped doing them years ago on January 1, having been disappointed in myself and the whole process time and again through previous years. I am kinder to myself these days, yet I do yearn for some inspiration. I am still grieving and feeling the stages move through me at their own pace. I’m probably most grounded in the “depression” stage, which is not without its upside. After all, it’s the closest to acceptance. :) Yes, I know they’re not linear. But I believe depression is “later” in this process for me, as I recognize the earlier denial, anger, bargaining phases all too well. Anyway, thank you for your comforting words, and I wish you all the best in your practice and process. ❤
