Phil Jackson is the greatest coach period, in any sport. It is a pity that the Triangle isn't played anymore. A team with a strong front court in today's NBA of zero defense would dominate. I would love to see a video on Jerry Sloan and Rick Adelman sometime.

To say that Phil Jackson only had one tactic is like saying that Hakeem had the dream shake as his only move... 😉

It kills me that not until 1990 they needed a rule not to punch people , it kills me even more that in response to other teams saying you want to make it about skills we will just rough house and he said "oh you want that kind of game, here is what I will give you the Pistons that beat me mixed with some hard liquor.

Pretty ironic how it was a Lakers coach who made fun of a shortened championship season. Hindsight is 2020 (legit)

Pat Riley was so good, that after he won the championship with the Lakers, he promised that they would win again the very next year...and they did

Pat Riley didn't just play the game; he broke it, rebuilt it, and made the NBA change its rules to keep up. Love him or hate him, he’s basketball’s ultimate puppet master.

The record shows that Pop's one of the worst: Without Parker, CP3 and the like coaching on court, he can't coach. Just look at his he wasted Robinson-Duncan duo before he got saved by Parker. Also unless there is an obvious first choice, he has a horrible record of drafting, with just Gino and Parker as good grabs, and a horrible drafting percentage elsewhere.

It wasn't that the Lakers were that good, the 76ers were just that weak, the Eastern conference was weak that year...... plus the league cheated Milwaukee that year from making the finals wanted a Kobe Iverson matchup...... fixed..

When Mr. Riley hoisted Bulls #23 Jersey to the roof of American Airlines arena in Miami, he made the ultimate statement about his taste and judgement. This is a man that worked with Wilt, Baylor, The Logo, Magic, Mr. Jabbar, Ewing and Knicks. At that ceremony in April 2021. The unparalleled leader of men said "I just believe he deserves it. The guy has been the greatest player in the history of the game, and I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea for every team in this league to hang his number in the rafters as a reminder of what greatness is all about.” Pat Riley is singular.

No need to watch. The answer is: by having the fantastic luck of inheriting a team with Michael Jordan and a Scottie Pippen, and then another team with Kobe and Shaq.

Funny you mentioned "psychopath". Some of the greatest winners of all time tiptoe that line. I remember hearing someone talk about Michael Jordan, saying, "We should be glad MJ was 6'6" and not 5'6" or he might've been the world's greatest serial killer."
