My brother and I are looking at this ship for a Panama Canal cruise ending in Tampa in 2025. I've been on the Pearl so just the names of some of the restaurants are different. I want a Haven room aft balcony.

We just got off the Jade's 14 night cruise around the Caribbean and I can't warn people away from this cruise hard enough. Boring, poorly laid out, and the dining options are terrible.

Was on the Gem in 2019! The Garden cafe has limited seating which was the only downfall. But thank goodness for the Great Outdoors.

Great Video, i was as a teen on the maiden voyage from Barcelona, Spain, to Boston, MA with a stop at Madeira in the Atlantic ocean. It was an unforgettable experience, but many things have changed, like the sealing of the atrium, or the now way smaller Arcade area. Good memories come up seeing this video. Thanks for that.

No more water slide at the pool. We just disembarked on 2/8/22. It was a wonderful vacation on the Gem, as always.

Why did they remove the slide? When I went on the gem as a teen 3 years ago the waterslide/pool area was the number one spot for my friends and I

Wow they renovated it all. I remember when I went like before 2012 it was so diff and still beautiful- there used to be a bowling alley in Bliss nightclub- I guess they took them out and put couches up there on the upper part of bliss (on the sides)

No. I filmed this in early 2020 before the no-sail orders. I thought it made more sense to wait to release the video until people could actually cruise again than post it while everything is shut down. I hope you have a good cruise! It's a great ship!

Are face masks required onboard currently? If so is it throughout the ship both inside and outside? We are booked on the Jade at the end of August.

Please check your embarkation documents for the rules on your specific sailing date and itinerary. NCL's official policy is "As government regulations evolve, our health and safety protocols will evolve as needed to ensure compliance. This may mean different protocols from ship to ship based on local requirements." That said, they were mandatory, inside and out, where social distancing is not possible. But that could change day to day. I suspect it's going to be hard for them to maintain this rule with other cruise lines not requiring masks for vaccinated people. Hope you enjoy your cruise!
