The high grip foam rubber wheels are the cause for the failig gears. When breaking with that grippy tires the gears getting much more force. The upgrade are mandatory with this tire configuration. Thanks for showing your expierence.

If you. do both ends this vehicle will run very well jaco foam. Wheels make it run like money

Great video, I had exact symptoms, total loss of power and screeching after a speed bash that didn't last for 5min. I am yet to remove the bottom cover to inspect the issue but I suspect either spur or diff gear. Do you have a link the metal spur?

How did you remove the clip?

I like tomley rc but I also disagreed with what he said as well about the suspension, I mean it's an RTR everyone knows some are gonna be good and some aren't. And all he had to do was adjust the suspension, which isn't bad tbh. I've had mine for about 7 years and still have the original suspension. Recently upgraded a few parts since it was brushed originally, but runs great again.

What pinion gear are you running with the 66th spur. I put a 31th pinion and it overheated. Even tho hpi says you can run a 66th spur and 31th pinion.

If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have bought the LED kit. Just over 2 moths ago I bought a new MAXX as well as the LED kit. It's beautiful, it works great and looks impressive. However, just 6 weeks after owning the truck the ESC died, something that seems to be very very common, thankfully Traxxas did replace it under warranty and they sent me a new one. While I was waiting for all this to happen I installed a Hobbywing Max8 + 2200Kv motor combo and that's when I realised that the LED kit is only good if you have the stock ESC. If I had known this I wouldn't have bought the LED kit and the link module and with what I would have saved I would have paid for the far more reliable Max8 ESC+motor.

I've got the orange and green and I've got the same colors of the xmaxx. All four are great bashers.

Good choice! I went wide on mine, but either way, my favorite rc ever...It’s worth mentioning that it comes pre-installed with telemetry so once you get the traxxas link set up correctly which can be pretty tricky sometimes you’ll have voltage esc temperature approx speed and rpm...A great feature!!! Love the rock ‘n’ roll body I went with the green But I love that one too. I got the light kits cvds and hex adaptor widemaxx aluminum castor blocks and aluminum steer links, try out the zee batteries!! The servo is fine. Overall it’s an amazingly great truck. I really like working on it too, everything easy. There’s definitely supposed to be play in the arms. Subd!! The battery you want is the Z 7000 Check the tray specs it matches almost perfectly They were $65 each. And absolutely unbeatable value and great for my kaiju too...

I got the blue orange one and it is the best rc i have. The play in the a arms is supposed to be there. This thing is insane and a joy to ride and maintain. Crashed it at 50km/h into some shrubs and nothing broke. Absolute belter this MT

Traxxas has a 4s compleater pack from hobby town or amian hobby for $170ish comes with the traxxas 4s 5000mah battery that fit the maxx 4s and the live id charger for 4s batteries (2s-4s and nimh) only does one batt at a time bit charges fast and can check on cells and charge on your phone

I just got mine its crazy fast with the traxxas batteries
