Right now my heart is in conflict over and for a young person who I suspect is under spiritual abuse within the family. Extreme acts of control over this persons life, scapegoating, emotional manipulation. I believe that is what I see yet people who are closer to the situation do not seem to see it.

This reminds me of Matthew 24 and the parable of the servant who believes his master isn’t coming back anytime soon, so he beats his fellow servants and gets drunk with the drunkards. The master comes back unexpectedly and cuts the servant in half… it’s not a good way to end up.

I have mad respect for this man. But I have the SAME MAD RESPECT for everyone who forsakes this world for holiness. Although I agree we should not give any certain group of sinners added grief, we shouldn’t give them added attention either.
