Awesome video. I’m a beginner harmonica player about a year into my musical journey. At this point I’m mostly using tabs but I really enjoy learning how to count bests, read music etc. I’m really enjoying the learning theory part too. This is all do fascinating to me. Unfortunately it took me til 56 to realize how much I enjoy this. But it’s all good. I’m glad I started when I did at least. Thanks again!!!

Best video ever. I am a piano teacher who recently moved to the US and had to relearn how to teach, in English, as it is my second language. This video helps a lot!

RIP Peter. While I love this, I worry that future generations will not appreciate the gender issues. Shouldn't be an issue, I agree. The characters expected different than they got. It's okay. "I assumed she was a man, she talked that way."

I have been a beginner musician of piano as a child and violin as an adult but I have never been educated in the fundamentals of music. As the lecture started I wasn't initially drawn in but I persevered and the lecture turned out to be at the level I needed to start understand the music I have been reading and using. The key board reference is very helpful for me. I seem to always use the keyboard as my reference. I look forward to the next lecture.

Thank you for letting me know about his passing. I shouldn't be surprised that, even though so many of my friends are into "classical music" and most of the groups I have on Facebook, none of them mentioned this.

Thank you. Could you please play a instrument like piano to add another teaching tool as you explain these? So part A is visual part B is looking at notes on board while you play the measure.? Combing the 2 would really help even more. This was a great lesson. Now if I can hear how it sounds on instruments. I struggle with my 8th and 16 notes. I get really confused. BUT this helped a lot!!! 😅

Thank you we’re does the triplet fall in line with the sixteenths note graph trying to get straight answer we’re it lines up for right count instead of saying triplet or one and ah thanks

I apologize for the late reply. Check out this video about compound time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bISzn6SPZsSVsKM You can mix compound time (triplets) with simple time (duplets) in a song but I did not cover that. I did this video about counting simple time subdivisions of the beat (quarter note/2 eighth notes/4 sixteenth notes) and then this other video to talk about compound time (triplets on the beat.)
