Hi Jemima, hope you enjoyed your trip to the school yesterday! Harry said you had lots of hands being raised to ask you questions and he was a bit gutted he didn’t get to ask any of his own, not a guilt trip I promise 😂 It’s just that he does a form of martial arts himself, in Jujutsu and we watched your event in the Olympic’s very keenly having knowledge and loving throws and holds himself. We were gutted, obviously not as much as you, after your event as we were able to understand how close you were to winning by the smallest of margins. I think his main questions would have been, what is your favourite throw/technique and if you would have any advice for him for his own training? I just wanted to say also we had no clue about the amount of injuries you had received over the years and wanted to say what an incredible journey you have been on, you epitomise how we all should deal with setbacks and are a great inspiration 👊🏻🙌🏻❤️

And yea I’m actually due another surgery on my knee in the next week or two aswell, but decided to tape it up and get on with it to secure Olympic qualification! It seems like ref doesn't care about tapping in judo? Often the person on the receiving end of a choke ends up asleep even when tapping

So happy i quit Judo, I dont agree with this suit strangulation stuff. These Judo suit KO`s are literally the worst you can find online, the person takes the longest to recover and twitch and convulse worse than others. They are obviously a dangerous and damaging type of choke and the Judo Refs are slow as hell to stop the fights. You can clearly see some of the people are out cold and the dumb Ref takes like 10 seconds to react. You even see people stop the choke themlself to show the Ref their opponent is not actually awake.

I Have a young judo group and thought it could have been nice to visit a tournament with some of our team. Is there a page with like a "tour plan" of the GBR Team? Update: Checked the EJU website and there was indeed no tournament in germany... for whole 2024... strange...

@@sebastiamg.1404 that would be awesome! The British judo website normally sends out memos of where we are competing next etc but the IJF website has the whole calendar on and tbh we end up doing most of what is on that calendar
