Pulling paper. A skill set for everything. Who would of thunk it?

We used clear adhesive “contact”paper! (Shelf liner) it worked perfectly. Kept most of the water off the paper and we could reuse the same piece of contact paper! A lot easier than building templates that you can’t see through.

When you cut a tile the paper gets wet and a bunch of tiles fall off. Not ideal I might as well be setting them individually

Is will the glue always re attach itself after a drive? If you don't use the weather stripping technique?

The Glue will reattach if there is a flat surface or tray to remove the tile from the saw and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Thank you for your informational video. I had a "professional" install luna bay tile and it has been a terrible experience. There is thinset between the grout lines and tiles have been falling off the wall.

This may be one of the worst tile methods to work with paper-faced where you cannot see what's going on behind this is an outdated method.

Who in the world has time to let the tile dry? Out in the field this is not a option so what you're saying is that cut the tile wet so the tile falls off the paperback sheets?
@tierneyc5388 Жыл бұрын
Can you elaborate on the grout choice note? Most info says that thin gaps do better with epoxy grout, if I'm reading it right. What are the "most applications" versus the "epoxy applications"? Why does your glass prefer it?

A number of issues, horizontal surface where most would be vertical, Zero explanation as to why you flattened the adhesive although I'm in line with the roller buttering. I have found many tricks. I don't like all of yours but I do like the buttering idea, through a number of video now I have a comprehensive list of the best of the best. One to add to the list is if the tile comes in plastic cut it with your wet-saw while it's still encapsulated in the plastic. A game changer. I gave you a thumbs up for the buttering idea, not into the flattening idea presented. Properly pressed the "grooves" will flatten.
@Tilethoughts Жыл бұрын
On glass the thinset needs to be flattened to avoid voids under glass. You will get much better results with flat bed vs notches .

Hi Gentlemen! Thank you for this very thorough presentation. Your glass is beautiful and I really appreciate your thoughts on hand made tiles and their applications. I have just made 44 tiles for my splash back and used black rainbow iridescent (you called it pearl), 10 x 10 cm. (England here!). I looked at your KZbin Chanel to find out how to install them. Thank you so much for the information. I love your enthusiasm and expertise and I really appreciate your generosity in sharing this with the world. With very best and kindest wishes, from Ann in England. Hand made glass rocks!

Because this is a brick look tile with staggered joints, the 1/2 sheet should have been off-set, not directly under the top sheet as shown in this video. This helps alleviate the "zipper" affect after grouting and a better overall appearance of the installation. Paul E. Fox President of Glass Tile & Stone, Inc.

Easiest method I found was to score a single time, hold the tile over a padded piece of wood about the thickness of a pencil, and just press on both sides and it snaps. Skinny pieces I put a piece of padded wood over the raised bridge and whacked the wood with a hammer. Worked most of the time
