The area where I live in San Luis Obispo county Ca. got millions of dollars to help the homeless. It all went to "administrative costs", They used a few million for an office and most of the rest went to counting how many homeless there were and kicking them out of wherever they were staying. As far as I know not a penny went to actually helping them. My wife volunteers passing out food to the needy. They go around to grocery stores etc. and get leftover food to give out. This cost exactly zero dollars. If they can do this with no money then why can't the government do anything at all with millions of dollars?

Homelessness is a big racket. Much money is made off this. Putting unqualified individuals with no solution to the problem racking up grant after grant after grant, stating all they need is more money. Perhaps the solution needs to be developed first. Bring back the live work rehabilitative regenerative, reintegrated agate asylum is a solution it requires no taxpayer money. Beyond 1/16 of what is spent upon the current situation, to maintain it to keep the money rolling again.

Oh yeah thanks for this. My country's been having some education reforms, I hope it goes well for us. I guess I should be wary of the pushes for including statistical literacy subjects, they might be at the cost of the other subjects too. I should also be wary of what is meant by teaching fads than just believing what they purport to do, which I often do because I have some level of trust in them and care more for my own field. About the input of STEM academics on Math education, that's interesting. I guess that while the New Math didn't workout, the problem is more about novelty without research or responding to the results of said novelties. It'd have been fine if, seeing a disaster of a semester or school year, the next iterations were improved and the idea scrutinized, which usually happens and how things improve and processes become resilient.

Remote work is more productive, according to the majority of the data. Hybrid work is important more for socialization and other non-productive tasks. These are obviously important for psychological and interpersonal reasons, but the idea that commuting into downtown SF is productivity boosting is incorrect. Regardless, the author is correct. The predictable outcome of the Southern Strategy that is the MAGA movement has pushed conservatives away from anything remotely statically robust in terms of analysis or policy suggestions.

Quit drinking just over a decade ago. But Privilege Hennessy is my favorite liquor. And any really hoppy microbrew IPA. My favorite being Torpedo.and Concord local (went out of business) black diamond brewing company's "Rampage" was one of the best Hoppy IPA I ever had. Great video. This Video shows the conundrum of balancing constitutional liberty, with humanity and law enforcement. But to be honest if in 2008 we did what the swiss did and place the criminal bank people in jail for predator lending causing the housing collapse... And had switched our fiat currency 💲 back to a metal standard like it was before Nixon. We would not have the inflation we see today. Homelessness is the symptom, not the root cause. High inflation plus high taxes, and COVID lockdowns ruined middle class america. The root of the problem is the creature from Jekyll Island, signed December 23 1913 at midnight by Woodrow Wilson. It was drafted in a secret meeting on senator aldrich's Private Island off Georgia coast. Pre 1900 Americans knew the foreign banks sceme and voted down any bank bills. So they called it the federal reserve act, but its a private bank. Its the root of why our grandparents dollar/hour of labor at rate, went farther than ours today. I've heard 65% or higher of $ in existence was created the past three years. We are going to have hyper inflation as Result and see a complete collapse of the US if Americans don't check our government spending (IE creation of new money)

Thanks @Pacific Research Institute - PRI for posting this video about affirmative action / supreme court. Here are the viewpoints expressed by Supreme Court justices regarding affirmative action. 1) This case is about a group called Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) who sued Harvard College and the University of North Carolina (UNC). They said that these schools were not fair in their admissions process because they were using race as a factor, which they believed was against the law. The law they referred to is the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment*. 2) The Equal Protection Clause is a part of the Fourteenth Amendment that says that every person should be treated equally by the law, no matter their race, color, or nationality. The SFFA believed that by considering race in admissions, Harvard and UNC were not treating all applicants equally. 3) The Court looked at the history of the Fourteenth Amendment and how it has been used in the past. They also looked at how other cases involving race and college admissions were handled. They found that while diversity in a student body can be a good thing, it must be handled in a way that treats all applicants fairly and equally. 4) The Court also looked at the idea of "strict scrutiny*". This is a way for the courts to look at laws to see if they are fair and necessary. If a law or policy is found to be unfair or unnecessary, it may not pass strict scrutiny and could be considered unconstitutional. 5) The Court found that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC did not pass strict scrutiny. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not clear or specific enough, and it resulted in fewer admissions for certain racial groups. They also said that the schools' use of race in admissions seemed to stereotype certain racial groups, which is not allowed. 6) The Court also said that the schools' admissions systems did not have a clear end point. This means that there was no clear plan for when the schools would stop using race as a factor in admissions. This was another reason why the Court said the schools' admissions systems were not fair. 7) The Court decided that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC were not fair and did not follow the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not clear, specific, or fair enough to be allowed. 8) However, the Court also said that schools can consider how race has affected an applicant's life. They can look at how an applicant's experiences with their race have shaped them and what they can bring to the school because of those experiences. 9) In the end, the Court decided that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC were not fair and did not follow the law. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not allowed because it was not clear, specific, or fair enough. 10) So, the Court decided that the SFFA was right. They said that Harvard and UNC were not treating all applicants equally in their admissions process, which is against the law. They said that the schools needed to change their admissions systems to be fair to all applicants, no matter their race. *The Equal Protection Clause is a part of the Fourteenth Amendment that says that every person should be treated equally by the law, no matter their race, color, or nationality. *Strict scrutiny is a way for the courts to look at laws to see if they are fair and necessary. If a law or policy is found to be unfair or unnecessary, it may not pass strict scrutiny and could be considered unconstitutional.

From the lying racist Contra Costa County fire department to the lying racist Walnut Creek police department these are two aggressive tax dollar funded hate groups. Racism and lying are sins. Romans 6:23 tells us - the wages of sin is death. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life.

I fought the communists in Vietnam. Served with the Regional Forces/Popular Forces of the South Vietnamese army. The communists ruled by terror/torture/assassination of the village officials, government workers, and anyone who sided with the South Vietnamese government. The communists poisoned the peasants minds with foolish ideas of utopia if they gained power. The result after their gaining power-no freedoms of any kind and everything controlled/owned by communist party officials. The anti war left of the 60's in America sided with them and rooted for their win-they have never faced this betrayal of their own country and the great sacrifice of young american soldiers who died supporting freedom in South Vietnam. The Earth is cooler with the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer. To perform as advertised the GHGs require “extra” energy upwelling from the surface radiating as a black body. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnvMm6ptYr56Y7c The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render that scenario impossible. No greenhouse effect, no GHG warming, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming.

It is refreshing to hear from a former potential nominee that renounces the 'living Constitution'(17:21) and rioting(25:40), recognizes the Christian inspiration of the Founding(19:14), and understands the frailty of human nature(23:15) > (8:39) _Moonwalking-where the dancer creates the illusion of moving forward while actually gliding backward-this is the perfect visual depiction of the progress that is directing not only the direction of American democracy but the trajectory of Western civilization generally_ -Janice Rogers Brown > (10:50) Orestes Brownson on American Exceptionalism: Authority with Liberty; Sovereignty of the People without Social Despotism; Individual Freedom without Anarchy; the Natural Rights of Man and those of Society > (20:48) _If there's no natural law, there are no natural rights. If there are no natural rights, the Bill of Rights is a delusion and everything which a man possesses-his life, liberty, and property-are held by sufferance of government. In that case, it is inevitable that government will someday find it expedient to take away what is held by such a title as that. If there are no eternal truths, if everything changes, everything, then we may not complain when the standard of citizenship changes from freedom to servility and when democracy relaxes into tyranny_ -Harold R. McKinnon (1944) > (29:10) _When Adam Smith made freedom central to his vision of the modern economy, he was clear that freedom and morality are two sides of a coin_ (-Roger Scruton) ... a free society is a community of responsible beings. It is not a society of people released from all moral constraint for that is precisely the opposite of a society. > (29:36) _We are subject to the Tocquevillian conundrum: liberal democracy needs the wisdom, self-restraint, and elevation provided by religion, but over time democracy tends to democratize all the contents of life, including religion itself (-Daniel J. Mahoney) ... has been the great project of progressive politics as well as modern theology to defend human freedom by 29:53 limiting the power of Heaven. Is there a source for this (17:27) quote? (watching this post-KetanjiJackson confirmation) P.S. - Janice Rogers Brown seems every bit as cheerful and more than Ketanji Jackson (relevant because the characteristic is constantly mentioned recently) ... and besides the superficial, there was so much wisdom in this speech I can confidently say that the country would have been better off if the Democrats hadn't threatened to filibuster her if nominated to the supreme court
@freddiee-johnson26152 жыл бұрын
The democrats never threatened that? They threatened to filibuster her nomination as a circuit judge, which ended up happening 2 years later anyways. She was on Bush's shortlist when Sandra Day O'Connor retired, but he decided to nominate Samuel Alito instead.
