I grew up there (4332 Allenhurst) til we moved in 1979. We moved when all the talk started. I loved the neighborhood.....was a great place to be a kid. Rode bikes til dusk, sled down neighbors hill in the winter, swam at the pool all summer, birthday parties and all the cookouts with neighbors/friends. I hate that they forced us out for the land and have done nothing. But........then we find out about the illegal dumping at westlake landfill and stuff in creeks and at airport property. Kind of tarnishes childhood memories.

My aunt lived in this subdivision when I was growing up in NY and we went to visit in ‘95-96 or so. So strange that I live here with my husband now lol one thing I am surprised about is the lack of homeless presence in the area, I figure it would attract junkies and just tons of issues, but it seemed super quiet when I drove through

I lived there too in the Carrolton Apts. Had tons of friends all throughout that neighborhood. Pattonville. Was there in 1989 to 1991. That area was a rough area. My friends and I used to go to Coachlight and the bowling place near the gas station and grocery store. Tons of theft, crime and violence was going on there. The airport bought it out. There was toxic waste at the garbage dump. You could smell the dump on somedays when the wind blew our way. I used to smell it waiting for the bus to go to Pattonville.

That’s where we grew up, was a great subdivision and I hate the airport for destroying it.
