I'm sure there's many great resorts out there to explore. We had the opportunity to rent at Buckhorn Lake clubhouse section in Kerrville TX which was amazing. Not sure if you had a chance to visit.

Do you know anything about Henderson Beach Resort? That’s where I’m going this summer with my husband and 14 year old daughter and her friend. Or would you suggest somewhere else? I have been to Miami many times and a few other places in Florida, but never on that side of Florida. I’m from Texas, and love the Caribbean too, but don’t want to take a child that isn’t mine out of the country at 14. Any suggestions are appreciated. I love nice sand and beautiful water, fancy hotels, and need to let the girls explore a bit in their own but not let them go far.
