Thanks for the review. This is what we have been waiting for. And I didn't know it existed. Especially for spinning reels, this brings the tackle shop to your home. No more twisted line. And if I'm not mistaken you can even use your drill on the spinning reel spools (at least on the latest edition). I was going to get myself one of those Piscifun spoolers that turn while you spool up to counteract line twist. Meanwhile I was trying to figure out how to build myself a tackle shop spooler on the cheap. The problem was I could not find a decent solution for the chuck to hold the spool. But now my search is over. This is more or less what I wanted to build. For the € 40 I can buy this for I can't build it myself. So I am going to get myself one of these Berkley Max stations. They are even cheaper than the Piscifun spooler. 😃

Thanks for sharing this!! Not having the kick up fins is a deal breaker for me. I have the reverse and kickup on my Hobie which I love....but if I had to pick only one I would choose the kickup fins. Not having the kickup fins means the potential of bending or breaking one or two fins if I hit a rock or log underwater. Not having reverse only means having to use my paddle to go in reverse. If kick up fins is more important to you then a brand new Mirage GT with kick up but not reverse is $825.

I will say that if the bearings fall out, they can be a real pain getting them lined up and staying in place... I was on the water and one of my chains broke, had a spare in the truck, went to the truck and worked on them, well never working on them before, I managed to dump all the pins on the tailgate, didn't have grease, which would have helped hold them in place while installing them back...I was having a difficult time, so the hillbilly in me got to thinking what I can use....lol and a 30/06 bullet fits in the hole perfect 😊 and allows for the pins to line back up without falling out.

Great video. I need replacement fins for my old V2 Mirage drive with ST turbo fins. I’m wondering if I could use Vibe XD fins as they are way cheaper than the Hobie replacements. Do you have the length of the vibe masts and fins so I can compare to what I’ve got?

I disagree, I've purchased several kayak carts and I thought this c-tug was gonna be better just because it cost more, but nope, it's just like all the other kayak carts, a pain in the ass loading a fully loaded kayak. I just invested into a Native landing gear and swapped out the tires from the C-tug and it's so awesome now. Just my opinion.

@betyourbassiyak68282 жыл бұрын
Yes, this one is the 5SS meaning 5" Split Shot. If you want the side scan you should consider the 7TS meaning the 7" Triple Shot. Which also means it has side scan, down scan, and sonar; plus maps. If you get any version with an "X" it meaning does not do/have maps. Hope that makes sense lol.

Hey Jake, sorry I took so long to get back at ya. But this drive fits perfect on the Xdrive Pod and in the Hobie. It just wouldn't fit on the new 360 drives for Hobie. Other than that, it should fit all Gen 1 & 2 Hobie/Xdrive pods.

Where would you rate the X-drive stock vs hobie upgrade. The reverse and kick up are two big factors for me the Hobies are so much more though. I just want to be able to hold my position better with out always having to pick up a paddle.
@betyourbassiyak68282 жыл бұрын
Derek, great question. To be honest, the 180 Drive is a HUGE game changer to the stock drive. It can help in those "positioning" situations that you are referring to. But yes, those Hobies are expensive and unless you're willing to invest that much I say stick to the Vibe Drive for a while. I've only been able to have the things I have by buying small, saving money, selling that item and upgrading by making up the difference with the saved money. That is what has helped me. Now, as for the kick up fins, I do not have those, but I've heard that they are amazing when going over some wood and/or rocks.

Great video! Nice kayak too with awesome mods. Can you tell me a little more how/where you mounted your chute for the anchor wizard? Did you drill any new holes for the chute mount? Thanks!
@betyourbassiyak68282 жыл бұрын
Philip, sorry I took so long to reply. To answer your question, yes. I drilled one new hole and used and existing hole that you can screw into that Vibe Kayaks come with predrilled. On the back of the hole, or inside the hull, I used a metal backing just for strength, but that's it. One little hole. And I mounted it on the back port side. Hope that answers your question. Thank you for watching!!!!!

Hey, bro I purchased my 1st and last kayak. I saved for 2 year's, while I researched. My Vibe shearwater, in slate blue. I see no reason to ever upgrade. Been on the bank for year's. Wish I would've known years ago, Being on the water fishing spots, in a vessel you designed is true therapy and serenity out there, where boats cant get to my spots, not even flats boats. While waiting I purchased all I needed like we always do. Approx 5k, in add-on's and accessories. I run my FF, USB/CIGG PORT/VM charger Panel, built and wired inside a 30 cal ammo box, from harbor freight. I fish all FW. My main lake is about 6000 acres, which I still haven't fished it all. I weigh 151lbs 5ft 7". She flies, with the fin drive, and I had to get my Bixpy, J motor, because I do have a heart condition. But the PDL, and paddling is comfortable on this boat. I run my bixpy from spot to spot. I usually use speed 6 to 7, and it last all day long. This winter I have too finish some decals, and want things mounted, but I noticed it takes a while just to learn, where to setup all your accessories and gear. You'd love that bixpy, especially on this kayak. She does cut through the water like butter. Be safe bro, enjoy. 🙏🎣🤟
