Really WISH Birkenstocks didn't have to have this 'one size fits all' footbed! I have flat feet and the footbed does NOT line up with the bottom of my feet. Like I'm walking over some kind of hill. I mean, most shoes don't have/need to have this thing in their shoes. Ugh!!!

Hey! I got mine and if you have a high arch they are impossible to get on! I managed but watchout for anyone high arch they are more for flatter feet and had to half size up to even make it possible but ttakes a lot of pulling on the heel to make it work. Just tip for anyone who is a high arch.

Finally landed my 788v G U I D I boots! These are the shorties, I had a pair of the longer boots 10 or so years back. Basically the same style, black back zip etc. But these ones were my GRAIL! ✨🥰🙏🌹✨. LOVE! Don’t want to say what I paid, but it was a miracle. I finally got what I wanted, perfect fit. Vibrams soles not yet put on and weren’t included in the box, but that’s a minor detail, I’ll get handled myself. The original leather, barely worn, is almost perfect. IS PERFECT! Zippers smooth, inside zipper leather perfect, no folding. Omg! Nice video, love your channel. Honestly, I’m going to roll with GUIDI and ANN D till the day I die 100% No joke.

The suede does not wear quickly. The darkening is called patina. I’ve had mine 10 years and no repairs needed. The sole does not wear either. I think this might be a problem with how you walk

I’ve been buying and wearing docs since mid 80’s, I have 2 pairs in daily use, 2 pairs in occasional summer use, 2 pairs I really need to sell, plus 1 pair work boots… all of which are in perfect condition, cleaned regularly with either balsam or polish. The only boots I had from them that weren’t up to scratch, were the Skelton work boots and a courdra pair I don’t remember the name of… the latter lasted around 3 months but they refunded in full.

You’re right. Those new Asian made Docs aren’t like the old Dr Martens made by Solovair. Buy Solivair and you’ll get the same boots with quality, or buy Docs made in England (if you must have that yellow stitching). But that plastic coating will always crack sooner or later. Choose real leather like crazy horse/vaxed leather and it will last and look great forever with proper care.

No I'm SO GLAD to find a video that actually calls a company out on their BULLSHIT! Everyone vehemently defending docs, I get it, OK? It's like a toxic ex that you had some amazing times with, you don't wanna let go! but guess what! They're trashy now and they treat you like shit and are falling apart. I feel like an idiot cause I just bought another pair of 1461 quads to replace my busted ones that I've owned for less than 2 years and already have a tear in them, I'm waiting to be made a fool of because here I am giving them another chance, but I'm so scared they're just gonna break on me again! This time I'm gonna treat them better... I'll buy the stupid balsam, I'll wash and wax them every other week, but the moment they start cracking and peeling again I will just know it's over between us, and I'll look to invest in a better quality shoe. For the moment though I'm trying to stay loyal, because damn it if I don't love the silhouette of those quads, and so far there are no sufficient alternatives on the market for me. Solovair is the most recommended, but I don't love their designs so much. It really isn't so hard for shoes to stay looking good for 10 years! Most of my shoe collection is vintage and they all hold up great. I have 20+ year old shoes that stomped through countless raves in the 90s that hold up great with no care whatsoever. I do not understand people in the doc marten cult, who treat you like an idiot if your shoes fall apart because you supposedly 'didn't take care of them'. WTF!?

Must be a his first pair of these. 1st point= they are leather there is break in, stop being a bitch. 2nd point= leather gets dark when it get wet, plus if its that dark you have trailer park feet. 3rd point= your comparing Japanese sizing to German not the same, measure your foot and the number will match, hint German shoes. 4th point= soles do not wear down that fast, where are you walking pick up your feet man. 5th point= be secure in yourself these things are great, fuck them if they laugh, bake them some cookies. You'll meet a lot of amazing bakers wearing these, once they eat your amazing Keebler treats they will shut up. 6th point= don't run or hike a hill, but if standing, and walking fair amounts all day, they the best. but don't buy this soft bed shit. Soft is nice for the quick love, the stiffer sole will make you a better person because your feet are happy. They are not Nike Airs or that, but at the end of 15 hours on your feet, these win. That's why they now make versions for restaurant work, hospitals, etc they are good for that, might take some a few days weeks to get used to them as most of us American's are accustomed to the squishy sole, but long days they win been there done that.(another edit, he/you did say they are pushing the soft bed and not to get them so yeah you know) but last, They do look goofy though, but who fucking cares when your feet, back, hips feel better. honestly this was the oddest review for this shoe i would ever expect, respect for doing it but i hope no one takes it seriously and you got or will get a role in some movie/commercial that you are aiming for.
