Great video, thanks! Did you find it reliable for long trips / high mileage bike? Can it sustain 110 -120 km/h on highway with rpms not too high if necessary?
@jufexx6 жыл бұрын
That´s not the purpose of the bike, as it´s designed to compete with it. With the right gearing you can be at 120km/h while not maintaining too high rpms (at the time i had this motorbike it topped 195km/h with that gearing), but that´s not the point on this sort of bikes as you lose engine response and get worse acceleration. Also, maintenance intervals, vibrations, small fuel tank, hard seat and lack of wind protection makes it quite uncomfortable for long trips, sport touring options such as Yamaha Tracer 700, naked/SM as Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 among others let you have fun while being comfy and with much lower maintenance. Cheers!

Dean Child Definitely much better than the original one, and the Touring from Yamaha that I've mounted before. Still a bit narrow at the bottom, but the extra length definitely helps to minimize the turbulences. :)

Great video! Can you make a video where you compare the exhaust with and without dB killer from a standstill and whit fly by. Keep up the good work
@jufexx7 жыл бұрын
DB-Killer is quite complicated to remove in this exhaust, still couldn´t manage to do it (plus, didn´t find the need, already pops and sounds quite a lot). Will record more videos in twisty roads, still too cold in Spain and with ice/snow in the mountains. This was just a first test for the setup, will turn the camera a little more upwards and try with another audio tweaks. Thank you!!!

Ey Dani buenas!

Hi Daniel. What do you think about the 300 on a SM version? The engine has a good reability to make good distances with a proper transmition ratio? Thanks and congrats for the vídeo.
@jufexx10 жыл бұрын
Hi! Video has 3 years already, i miss a lot my enduro motorbikes, great times with them. :) Engine it´s actually very reliable...as a competition motorbike. Remember that these motorbikes are not designed for normal road use, but for circuits, they´re quite extreme. 2-Stroke motors are not friendly with constant speeds, the motor get´s lubricated when you stop accelerating, if your aim is to use the motorbike for trips, then go for 4 strokes. I would only recommend 2 strokes for competition and <50km eventual routes, maitainance costs are really high. For SM i think also that 4 strokes are more funnny, as 2-Strokes bikes doesn´t have engine retention, in 4 strokes you can play it with lowering gears and using the clutch harder or softly before cornering. if you want to use it for longer distances, i recommend you to buy a light trail and not an enduro. They´re way more comfortable and have much less mainteanance. The BMX 650 x-challenge is a good option, same as the Suzuki DR-Z 400, KTM 690 Enduro (from 2010, previous models were not so reliable), and maybe the Yamaha XT 660Z Tenere. (if you want to have a dual-use). If you want to use the motorbike just for road, the DR-Z 400 is still a good option, and same with the KTM 690SM or DUKE 690. Good luck with your choice! ;)

Thanks your answer, Daniel. You confirmed what i already thought. I had at least 6 or 7 2stroke bikes, but none of them was a true competion model. All of then where riden hard and I never had engine problems. Yes, a 300 GasGas will be great for city ride and small rides, specially in country side roads. A terrific machine with 17 wheels, lightweight and very fast response. Of course, we must ride these bikes with 1/2 or 2/3 throttle charge most of the time. In fact, is more than enough for a 55 hp bike with 110 kg´s of weight. Don´t you agree with me? Nevertheless i wanted to know if the 300 is a really reliable machine. Thanks.
@jufexx10 жыл бұрын
"We must ride these bikes with 1/2 or 2/3 throttle charge most of the time." That´s essencially why you shouldn´t buy a 2 stroke, they´re designed to go full gas, and then cut the gas, 3/3 or 0/3 throttle chargue. If not engine parts don´t get properly lubricated and you can break the piston. For city, definitely go for a 4T. In general for road use, always go for 4T (and over 450cc, they have less mainteanance and are more reliable), for intensive enduro use, then you can look for 2T too. Cheers!
@zardportugal10 жыл бұрын
You are right but in 100% competition view. We should/can always drive 2stroke engines with a mixture above the recomended standart for enduro. How many 2stroke bikes did you owned? I had 4 DT´s 50cc´s, 2 125´s and one 200cc´s (all Yamaha´s DT liquid cooled). All of them had several (and severe on half of them) performance improvements. No problems at all. Besides that i drove RD´s, TZR´s, CRM´s. My question was about the 300cc´s GasGas engines, and about it you have already answered me. Thanks a lot.
@jufexx10 жыл бұрын
Those were not competition motorbikes, these ones are much different. Yamaha´s DT have asphalt focused engines, adapted from another bikes, mainteanance is really low. I owned a GasGas TXT125(200 kit), EC125(144 kit), EC300 six days, FSE 450(515 kit), and now an Honda Varadero 1000. All of them modded, really happy with Gas Gas. I´ll probably buy next honda Africa Twin 800 though

@alex250tt11 жыл бұрын

@jufexx11 жыл бұрын
@jufexx11 жыл бұрын
@jufexx11 жыл бұрын
@jufexx11 жыл бұрын

There are nicer places, this was next to my house. Asturias it´s a very nice place to do enduro, but nowadays there´s a lot of problems with the forest police (here it´s called Seprona). I remember to ride with 14-15 without driving license and there was no problem at all, Now you can get intro trouble although you have license and insourance. That´s why i´ve sold my motorbike. Now i have to go through this places by foot or bicycle... ;)

A week after this video i´ve received the helmet extension pack for the GoPro. With that pack i was able to record videos in the helmet correctly. The video it´s only a provisional "experiment" test which i did with the head belts accesory, putting them around my chest. See the newest videos in my channel. The video has 1,5 years. After i´ve bought an FSE 450 and now i don´t own any motorbike. Also i´ve sold the GoPro last week. I´m only in the four-wheel world now... Enjoy them!!

I´ve reached from 135km/h with 13-50 sprockets to 195km/h with 13-40 and supermotard kit in normal conditions (no downhill or favorable wind) reaching the rev limiter. Maybe with a 13-38 it could run over 200, but it´s not designed to reach high speeds, for that purpose a Yamaha R6, Ninja ZX6R or honda CBR 600rr are much more easy to ride. For twisty roads and karting circuits or enduro-cross purpose it´s unreachable and gives you lot´s more of fun than any other kind of motorbike. ;)
