I know its an older vid but you should NEVER smite enemies that are in pox gas. You want them to come towards you and leave the pox gas so you can melee them without taking pox damage. Smiting them just gets them stuck in the gas and theyll just build up with nobody wanting to melee them.

70m is the maximum i would throw it near someone, or throw it kind of near if we are running from alot, but sometimes they decide to run towards the 4 hulks and over 10 devastators of each type then blame me for putting it "wrong".

they're orbital barrages, they're supposed to flatten a fuckin gigantic area with decently sized explosions over the course of a few dozen seconds

It's designed for large areas, like throw it in the middle of heavy bug/bot areas and it can wipe them out.

You're perfectly able to keep team alive with assail if you have a higher IQ than a dishrag though, i use it and i find it lovely at not just providing me with aid against grouping but also against big hordes of ranged enemies. And not to mention how it can make short work of big groups of ragers, it's really awesome.
