@ it’s a hand made in-line spinner. I also was using a rapala. One pole had 6 lb mono stren the other had 8lb line stren.

It's not always better to fish upstream. Some pools are better accessed from above. In cold water sometimes a"hanging" lure is better than one race downstream with the current.

You ever tried out the lures manufactured by one of MTA’s founders, Lake Effect Lures? He makes a feisty fry which, in 3” version, has KILLED for me on nice browns. Get the clear/translucent colors for clear water and the brighter solid colors for stained. I toss em on a 1/16th oz jig head. Amazing lures.

I'm not sure where you read that type four streams are catch and release. Type three has a requirement that you only keep larger fish. Type four is open to smaller fish to keep.
