Had this problem so I replaced the solenoid but still getting the same results. Have to jump it with the screwdriver to start. Any thoughts?

I believe there is a relay to energize the solenoid which can fail. Also, the ignition lock tumbler is a known failure point.

Then you probably have a bad starter or bad starter wiring.

I replaced a heater core on the side of the interstate in the middle of New Mexico. So yea you gotta do whatcha do. Right now I’m looking at replacing the u joints and carrier bearing on a 94 ranger. Your video was very reassuring that it’ll be a fairly simple job. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video... I have a 94 B2300 Mazda, same engine My belt is worn bad , alternator is charging but starts squealing with accessories on and the gauge shows alternator is not charging battery when it squeals ... I will change belt this weekend , think my alternator is fine but my battery was made in 2012 so I will probably have to change that too.. Your video helped me alot thanks
