Hugh Hendry averaged 6-7% over 15 years, and yet he is allowed to poop all over the stage with his verbal diarrhoea. Imagine being bearish in 2010, all the alpha he could have generated by buying simple stocks. Instead he wanted all the attention by playing Dr doom.

I will continue buying these beautiful pieces that are made with such care and are all unique in their own way. He does beautiful works of art that are worth buying as little treasures!! Thanks for your beautiful pieces!!

Hi Hugo! I’m Umberto ‘s friend. If you go to Venice you find him at his artisan studio in Campiello de la Cason, Cannaregio 4493A. (Where this video was shot). There aren’t tours. If you go there you see him. You can also buy online at MiniMicroMuranoGlass.Etsy.com Instead, his little shop near San Marco Square is now close (too few tourists in Venice, alas)

Saludos desde México me gusto tu video Tienes que tener un permiso especial para navegar por los canales?
@Durchbrechen7 жыл бұрын
Hi ! Grazie ! Bienvenido !

@pipzzo Having met Hugh a couple of times I think he is simply on the side of proving the failure of politicians, central bankers, economists and market participants to understand and yet still exaggerate economic conditions and market movements and place too much store on the arrogance of the human condition.

@Ftfmglen so how u feeling now about the Greek default ?
@christopheradderley690214 жыл бұрын
Ftmglen do you honestly think Greece will probably not default? lol..
@Ftfmglen14 жыл бұрын
How wrong they were on treasury bonds...Hugh and Nassim..if you look back were dead wrong..except for metals. Greece hasn't defaulted and probably will not. The real risk takers are the ones who screwed the economy in the first place. Hugh thought Japan was going back to 40,000 5 years ago. Don't listen to his, just as he doesn't listen to others.
@Durchbrechen14 жыл бұрын
Prechter had a horrible timing. Indeed his analysis was sound and correct, in theory. He understood the underlying problems of western economies but overlooked the ability of creating bubbles through monetary policy. If you look at the very long term picture you see he was right in indicating a terrible overbought condition in 2000 and even before. But in practice (for trading purpose) this is not sufficient. You can be right about the overall condition of the markets and lose all your money.
@KevinCerovich14 жыл бұрын
I've only been following Pretcher for a few months, but everything I've heard him say dating back to 2000 has been bearish. For those of you who have followed him longer, is this always the case. He seems a little fear mongerish, but let me know your experience, thanks!
@SomeVideoCrap14 жыл бұрын
I agree with prechter about the elliot waves. the market crash in 2008 formed a 5 wave decline, thats a bearish sign. I also analyzed the the current bull market we we're in before, and I noticed it had a 3 wave corrrection. I hope elliot wave theorists are with me on this, but most investors may find this hard to believe that the bull market of 2009 was simply a "long term correction". We could be heading lower, but thats just my opinion. Investors should always due their own due diligence!
@Durchbrechen14 жыл бұрын
@rockerme4u You're right. If their signals are so good, why they don't make a lot of money in the market, without selling anything ? This applies to ALL gurus. It's so evident, but almost every trader has fallen into the trap at least once (me too). However I like listening to them. Sometimes they make you aware of general movements and important data. But never trade their hints. One has to have his own trading plan and stick to it.
@rockerme4u14 жыл бұрын
Ironic that this is when he made his double down short advisery. Hmmmm Then the S&P rallied 150 points. Nice loss for me. My largest to date ever. He felt his wave counts were telling him to go short. What a joke. Buy his short term update and watch how often his counts change. The fact is, it is a historical analogy. Not to be used as a forecast. And don't forget to buy all his other stuff they will tell you you need. Just like a ponzi scheme, just buy more stuff. They got a lot to sell.
@TYX9110114 жыл бұрын
The market did pull back in February, but recovered and made a new high in April. Then the bottom fell out. Interesting observation - "the bond market is the biggest bubble in the history of the world". It represents debt that can never be repaid. That said, it represents the final firewall to be broken in the bear market.
@ariksan15 жыл бұрын
Nice to see that even withouth the keynesian clowns - if you put two independent thinkers like Taleb and Hendry into a room they can respectfuly disagree. I'm following both of them. It's healthy to hear different perspectives (as long as they arn't Keynesians ;)).
@Durchbrechen15 жыл бұрын
CDS on japanese corporations gor betting against interest rates movements ? I thaught Hendry had used a classic short strangle
@Durchbrechen15 жыл бұрын
Hendry thinks yelds will not rise. He's still a deflationist. The 75 % is done using an option betting against yield's volatility. As Hendry says: "I get paid money every day underwriting the risk that the BOE will cut rates further. I use that to cheapen an option which say "I don't think the Bank of England, and ECB, is going to raise rates in the next 4 months." And if nothing happens i make 5 times my money. If they raise rates, I lose my premium"
@myyootube15 жыл бұрын
By treasuries rising, are you referring to yield or price? If the FED leaves rates alone, I would think there would be no effect on either price or yield. When the FED raises rates, bond prices will fall and this in combination with the fear of inflation/hyperinflation buyers will flea long term maturities - this will provide the opportunity to short. Probably what is happening in Greece now. If the FED leaves rates as is for an "Extended Periord" how do you make 75% on this trade?
@martialarm15 жыл бұрын
he is talking a bet on treasuries will rise and actually the whole world expects them to go down. Opposite Talabs third bet. Hugh believes that interest in USA will not rise or if it does the economy will be killed and even the speculators dont want that so treasuries do actually find buyers. US buyers mainly.. You can see this in Hughs face when Talab is talking and especially when Hugh says to Talab "Fuc.k Y.ou" at 3.12.

following the link on the sidebar you can watch the full conference. If I remember well there are other speakers and a question time but Hendry doesn't talk about that any more. Not sure anyhow. Check it out. (click on Eng at the bottom of the video, otherwise you get the russian translation)
