The hammer, sword, stick and knife heads are all retractable, and each hit to a competitor's body can activate the sensor to achieve the purpose of scoring on the display screen.

that thing is our teams first weapon and is honestly kindve a pos. It has been rebuilt like 4 times and the pommel falls off if you don't hold it right. Or do you mean the flamberge?

@@primedknight5906 i suppose in hindsight its not so bad, it just had to get rebuilt a few times. The handle was definitely the worst part, the blade has lasted surprisingly long. Its age of craft i think

The first few 3 fight series were gauntlet rounds, 1 minute on and 30 second break x5 with a fresh opponent and different weapon each round.

Hey all, I’m in Kalispell and considering coming to some practices and hopefully joining. What does the time commitment usually look like for practices/events?

Hey there! It's been awhile since I made it to practice myself, but it usually ran two-ish plus hours, but that included kitting up. Afterwards everyone that can hangs together, and many times we'll hit a restaurant. You are welcome for any amount of time that you can make it, however! Many 'events' are all day/weekend affairs.

Hey I am actually from Kalispell myself and on the team. Practices are always on Saturday afternoons, and go for at least a few hours. Kyle, the team captain, is very good about working with everyone who has a commute to get us as much time as possible. Just make sure to communicate! Events are much more inconsistent due to a wide array of formats and hosts, so it comes down to each one and whether you can make it work. If you can't make an event that's ok!

Nah, me and jared. For some reason the slight height difference really makes it so i struggle getting leg manipulation for throws and head control. Him and Hunter are the only two people ive run into where the fight consistently lasts longer than 3 minutes semi regularly lol

We have two of those on the team, one is mine but I didn't wear it at this practice bc its a pain to put on. Both are made by Aleksey Perebeynos. He does incredible work!

The people putting on kalispel ren faire decided to not do it this year but will apparently be doing it again in 2024. We are hosting an event at lolo peak brewery July 22nd and 23rd though!
