I need to put an asterix on Bateman's watch. It's supposed to be a two tone Rolex datejust, however Rolex was vehemently against having the watch appear in the movie. The production team needed to find a stand in so they used a Seiko 5 instead. You can clearly see the crown is at the 4 o-clock position at 2:27.
@jacksugden81909 күн бұрын
Looked like a 1950’s model based upon that crown. Well used judging on the case. Think that the dial may have has been painted, looking at numerals and battens.

I wish more watches would have just small the 60 second dial with the minute and hour hands. A lot of modern watches look cluttered. I like this look. It's clean, functional. Thanks for the video.

The problem with these Omega is that when it comes to selling them you have to give them away so cheap which makes you want to throw it in the trash.

I’ve got an early 1940’s or WWII 17j black dial Royce manual wound 33.2mm Manual Wind Sub Dial Watch with SU 925 Movement in a stainless steel case, original dial and Arabic numerals, sports original sub-dial and hands, amazingly, the lume was as good as new, and I believed has the original leather strap and buckle, a tribute to past times.

That’s a Benrus, not a Hamilton. You can tell by the flat-topped number 4 - Hamilton’s were not like that. Search “Hamilton GG-W-113” in Google and you’ll see the difference in the font. Still a great watch though, the Benrus. Arguably even cooler than the Hammy.

I have my Pelagos 39 - which is essentially Tudor’s modern take on the snowflake submariners - mounted on a NOS decommissioned Marine Nationale parachute strap - the same material used to mount M.N issued snowflake subs on back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The bracelet is packaged up and stored away. With similar dimensions, a submariner triplock crown, and the same markers and handset as the snowflake subs, it allows me to enjoy a snowflake submariner at a fraction of the price. And the cherries on the cake are the red dial text, modern movement, vintage pointy crown guards, and very potent lume. The way I wear my P39 would make any ole navy men from those decades who had Tudor snowflake subs grin 😁

@@LastWatchHorology definitely would've bought one if it was a stap, these chinese watches are amazing, but the bracelets no matter who says what they are poor quality and feel cheaper than a £10 seiko. They should really stick to straps and make the watches even cheaper to sell more, because the watch itself is very good quality from China these days

Apart from the gold capped model (not gold plated) there was also a solid gold version. There was a hand wound model and then those with date or day and date were powered by an automatic movement. Good to see you have the original buckle with the applied Omega logo.
