This is a great tutorial. It's what you understand as Boogie as a beginner and it ships all the ingredients, you have to collect from so many different sources otherwise.

So nice to see you instructing. Have been following you for years …. Yes, when you had hair😅 The short personal note you wrote me years ago about ‘practice’ made all the difference… I followed through. Ty Music for my soul!!!

You had me in the first 2 minutes. I spent most of my life trying to play jazz, blues and ragtime. But recently, I've been trying to play mostly classical piano. The big thing about playing fast is the need to relax and to rotate your hand from the wrist and forearm. There's even a whole school of thought about this called the Taubman approach.

Helo Arthur, great advices, thanks ! I see on Chase Garrett'video that he dont use his 4th finger, do you use yours ?? I cant' see on your video; for me I think it's better to use it... (of course I speak about minor thirds) Also , but I think it's because you're already a great boogie player, you dont' talk about slow (even very slow) practice to begin a new lick...

Love boogie Woogie but do you have any lessons on slow blues playing with one left hand chord with right hand voicings and licks runs etc…❤thanks Grant 🎹

Brilliant presentation/inttoduction to Boogie Woogie. Loved every moment. The humour was a master touch. Especially liked the points about muscle use, using the metrome and of course the importance of relaxation. Thank you Maestro for the Masterclass.

Left hand tied in with the foot? I see you keep time with your foot. That’s an added complication for me, currently! ☺️

Nicely put together Arthur. The point on hand independence is so true. Once the left hand is locked in, I find I almost forget about it while playing. This gives the right hand a lot of freedom.

Took me until step 3 to actually hear the correct rhythm lol Is it just me who struggles to conceptualise rhythms when they are played really slowly. Maybe have some sheet music on screen for reference during the super slow bits?

Wonderful gents! Next time take out the music racks? Amazing ending!
@thearthurmigliazza10 күн бұрын
Thanks! Music racks were there to help balance the sound for us since there were no monitors and it was all acoustic. In order to hear the other person we had to block our own sound from overpowering. ;-)

I had the sense that I should be mostly listening to the left hand while playing, it’s nice to hear that for the first time (versus simply that the left hand is ‘important’).

No mention of compensation. Why would you thank a company for sending a review product? Unless you get to keep the piano in exchange for posting a video review? My Spidey sense is tingling - like something's sketchy.

when companies do this they either pay the person like a sponsor or its for publicity to get more sales so they get more money anyhow
