Best film ever made for my money; never seen anything so honest. And this the best song from an immaculate soundtrack. Heartbreakingly good.

The video appears to be the famous race between the Bluenose (Nova Scotia) and the Gertrude Thibaud from the US about 1938. Beautiful voice and song.

Yes, I agree with both comments! BTW I have the half hull of the Thebaud hanging in the stairway in my house. My great gandfather was her designer. Also a huge fan of Linda T!

I have no idea, but I am to guess Kenny must have really felt some sure burden of responsibility taking this project on. This was not for his own work, this was for Scotland. A stunning outcome; an amazing and beautiful soundtrack Congratulations KC 👍

What has made Scotland stand apart from many other nations is an almost universal understanding of the needs of "ordinary people" to better themselves and to receive fair treatment and opportunity. It's why my grandparents were Young Communists and, sadly, is why he died in Coastal Command in WW2. Despite having 4 kids and a protected occupation he felt the need to "fight the fascists". A great film and a fine song.

Greenockianx why can’t they vote for Independence then?
@Greenockianx4 жыл бұрын
@@hearditman What has that got to do with my comment? Scots people can have a shared set of values while having differing opinions on how those values are best achieved.
@hearditman4 жыл бұрын
Greenockianx well, we understand the needs of “ordinary people” and the receipt of fair treatment and opportunity, what about our opportunity as a self determined nation? Some Scots need a boot up the arse.
@Greenockianx4 жыл бұрын
@@hearditman Obviously enough people felt either too scared or under informed to take that step. There is a need for the case to be made again but for it to be clearly thought out, costed and supported from outside Scotland too. Then it will be seen to be a serious and positive option. Until then the fear factor will win.
@hearditman4 жыл бұрын
Greenockianx No, Scottish people will ultimately decide their future without any outside influence. We are a Country and a Nation not a satellite or an annexe!

I guess i just do it} contact me at [email protected]. I am thinking/feeling a G-Eminor-Aminor-C-D-D7 heartbreaking ballad. Ok you've heard it all before, but this is for real, here in Minneapolis! --- Richard (Yeah same name) PS I adore your voice & I think you are a kind of goddess. Seriously. Your singing...

Injustice on its knees underground The clawed-out tonnage is to our detriment In these clarty surrounds The combined earnings of our tenements Won’t stretch to many rounds And yet we’re striving to be counted We’ll fight for what is right And we’ll strike for what is rightfully ours And I want better for my boy To bury my father in dry, consecrated ground You’ve got to rise above the gutter you are inside You’ve got to rise above the gutter you are inside You’ve got to rise above the gutter you are inside You’ve got to rise above the gutter you are inside

They deserve congratulations for finding this haunting music and bringing it to life, making it far better than the original home recordings. This is genius in action, in sharp contrast to the usual case, where a well known cover is done and made worse than the original.
