I remember reading that interesting story and many others in David Ben's great biography of Dai Vernon. There is, in the book, a rare photograph of Allen Kennedy taken on Christmas Day,1954. What a pleasure it is to hear The Professor talk about the extraordinary individuals that he met in his life.

Well, heres to all Mexican Joe's, Arizona Fats, One eye Bills. America as it once was. Im bullshiting you, tbh, I was never once in USA, but those are the names I grew up with reading as a kid those Zane Grey's or Karl Mays novels. But I'll come once to pass Route 66. Nothing special, I just want to take a cup of coffee, go drunk in some Bukowski motel, maybe take a shave in some traditional barber shop. All those things that symbolize the Land of the free, as far away as possible from the modern police state. Such a shame, from a symbol of personal freedom, equal chances for success, to the country where trigger happy pigs are killing juvenile kids in broad daylight.

I love how, at 7:25 he says, "I don't want to go into...it'd take too much time to go into detail" Wait, what? We got nothing BUT time to listen to you go into detail! Prof just didn't want to explain how the guy did it. If anyone could center-deal though, the Professor could. But we'll never know cuz the gutless and dimwitted interviewer wouldn't ask appropriate follow up questions.
@maxmalini87786 жыл бұрын
Actually, the Kennedy center deal is published. If you watch the one on one teaching of Jason England on the center deal he discusses the deal(he mentions it to be exact, he does not teach it, but I believe there are references for that type of deal at the end of the video.)

If Marlo had invented the Centre Deal, he would have published hundreds of utterly pointless ways to do it; sourced from his notebooks and dated 30th February 1742.
@superchef783 жыл бұрын
@@BarryAllenMagic He obviously did not invent it. Dozens of variations can be found in Seconds, Centers, and Bottoms. They’re great. People criticizing Marlo for his variety miss it. Marlo was great.
