At Bunnings you can buy this black rubber matting or padding about 1-2 inches think in square meters or by roll, I’d purchase a square & sit it on that it’ll help with the extra noise from being on a wooden desk

I think we have something like that which we bought from Clark Rubber. I've raised it a bit, about 10cm or so(it's sitting on a small box speaker on one side and 3 single bed quilt covers in packets on the other) , and apparently it's cooling the room better. We have very high ceilings.

When I turn on the air conditioning to cool, start cooling and the compressor tries to start after a few minutes but doesn't, do you know what it could be due to? It was working normally yesterday. Gas? Or another thing?
@brokeandbaldingАй бұрын
a couple of things that it might be, make sure the dust filter is clear and also drain any water that's in the small tank it has.
@EJRuvalsАй бұрын
Mine is too noisy, that's normal?
@brokeandbaldingАй бұрын
yup, i don't have a decibel meter, however with reverse cycle split systems you don't hear the compressor and fan because the noisy part is outside, with this it's inside. we turn up the tv a bit and it's fine

Hey mate. Just got this today, I'm not having much luck setting the window kit up. I found the instructions pretty vague too. Would appreciate a video of how you installed yours! (if you're keen on taking it apart haha)

That would run against gravity. If I were to raise the unit by about 10cm it could work but for now into a bucket works for us.

Hey mate, good video, couple of questions. Does this system come with an internal water catchment tank? If i'm around Sydney (Not really humid), does the internal catchment tank if there is one need emptying how often? Or if it just drains, how much in a 24 hour period do you think? Cheers.
@brokeandbalding Жыл бұрын
good questions, yes it has a small tank which is why I opted for the bucket option. If you have it on for 24 hours I would guess that, depending on humidity levels, you would need to empty it about 4-6 times. Just a guess though. It would pull most of the moisture from the air in the first few hours and then maintain it. So far this summer (there are really only 2 seasons Winter and Summer now) or Spring we have had it on twice and it's pulled about 4 litres out of the air.

Just a quick update on the water, with the humid day today(12/12/2023)(after the downpour yesterday) here in Melbourne it has drained about 4.5 litres of water in about 2.5 hours. It is cooling the room quite well. Loud yes but only because the condenser and motor unit is inside not outside like a split system would be.

We didn't use it that much last summer so it wasn't too bad. We shall find out this summer how it goes depending on how the weather goes. According to the electricity company our usage is between 1 person and 2 person household. We however don't have a lot of appliances or lights going when we don't need them. We are a 2 person household.

From where I can get android head unit with frame?
I have same unit in kluger, just installed. The extra camera is a bit of work but worth it. The wiring is not obvious if you need to know how I did it. My dab is on a usb, I’m guessing you have the version with internal dab. The Navi off the Home Screen can be set. In the settings to a Navi app, it came setup for chrome which is dumb. I point it to here we go and have downloaded maps on here we go so I can navigate offline. Do you know if the seriously expensive hazard passenger strip just plugs in on these klugers. I’m assuming it plugs into the single receptor which splits into another cable for the two separate buttons you have. Reason I ask is I broke my hazard switch when fitting. My am radio is useless, I think the receiver in the unit is probably rubbish for AM ? Apple CarPlay sort of works but not with hey siri, you have to push and hold the bottom left icon to bring up Siri and then it only lets you do some commands like navigate and open apps, you can’t ask it what the weather is. Also if you disconnect Apple CarPlay it just reconnects which you don’t always want, you have to turn off wifi on the phone to stop it reconnecting
@brokeandbalding Жыл бұрын
I have the original reverse camera connected and working through the headset, I just needed to connect it with proper connectors that would not come loose, and I'm not sure about the Apple Car play as I use Android Auto. I have not had much success with wireless Android Auto however. I know some phones can do wireless Android Auto however I don't think this headset can do it either. I do find that you have to press the microphone icon to ask the headset something. Also depending on where you live, and the original antenna connection is how good the AM will be. I find down here it is relatively okay. I am using an external (plug into USB) dab. I have had problems with the antenna cables that have come with the antenna. Possibly having a break in them at some point. If i keep the cable straight in certain sections it works fine, however I cannot put that behind the dash. The hazard strip to replace the two buttons either side you are looking around the $150 area depending on where you get it. Maybe try eBay to see if you can source one of those buttons. The hazard adapter should plug into the cable connection for the two buttons that it replaces.

@@brokeandbalding Hi, what connector did you use to connect to the factory camera? Please can you send a me link of that connector? my second question is how did you do to activate reverse mode on the headset when the gear is in reverse? Thanks
@brokeandbalding Жыл бұрын
@@canneltest9431 aerpro.com/apvty05 is the part you need. Not sure if I bought it from eBay or Amazon. With the two rca connectors you need to put in a splitter then send the split signal to the head unit. You also need to connect the signal wire from the head unit ( it should come with a wire that will receive the reverse signal from the small screen) to the extension piece. It will change to the reverse camera automatically. I've been thinking of rigging up something to switch it on automatically but not yet. In the settings you can choose to turn on the reverse lines or not. I have them on because it helps a little.

@@brokeandbalding thanks. Does your car has Canbus? Because I try giving 12v on the reverse wiring input of my android radio but it didn't activate the reverse mode.
@brokeandbalding Жыл бұрын
@@canneltest9431 I suspect so, however with the aptvy05 part connected properly it will activate the reverse camera as you need to connect the reverse line from the radio to the reverse (purple) line from the aptvy05 part. You will need that aptvy05 part to get it to work properly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJXNg3tvn8t8nck shows the installation. At about 23 minutes in you can see the purple wire in the dash. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHemhYaCg9uLY9E at about 4 minutes in to this one it shows the two wires that need to be connected.

I bought a second hand teco air con last summer and i could deal with the loudness until the damn thermostat kicked in which did it like every 15 mins and id just hear a loud bang. Does this one do that? Thats my main concern buying a new one
@brokeandbalding Жыл бұрын
I don't hear a loud bang that I'm aware of. It is loud, however it is an indoor unit that is elevated on a wooden surface creating somewhat of a sounding board. We did turn the tv up a bit when on. However no loud bang or anything of that nature. If you have it just removing the moisture in the air then it will turn the compressor on and off when cooling, however if you have it on cooling and dehumidifying then it won't turn the compressor off. I have a tube draining into a bucket so I don't need to constantly empty it. When I had the tube blocked (temporarily) the machine turned the compressor off until I drained it, then it turned back on. My bad. I now just have the bucket in it's own location and the hose in it. When using it to heat it still dehumidifies the air and still need to have the hose in the bucket. I was tempted to place the unit outside with some kind of hose blowing into the room from outside however it would need to have a waterproof enclosure built as well because where the window is the rain fall straight down there from the roof and the upstairs roof.

As with most if not all smart devices you need to connect it to the 2.4Ghz network, turn off the 5Ghz if you have it on. Mine is also only about 3 metres away from the router which helps as well. You need to be close to your router for things to work well. You need to download the Grid Connect Application first. Create an account (No matter the app you always seem to need to create an account, I have Genio, Tuya and Zepp and now Grid Connect) with Grid Connect. The manual says to press and hold the timer button for 5 seconds until the unit beeps and the Wi-Fi light flashes. I'm not sure if you're meant to press the timer button on the remote, or the unit for the unit to beep and the Wifi light to flash. Press the Add Device button on your mobile phone app and then Auto Scan. Mine was picked up relatively straight away which was good. It took 2 or 3 tries with the Wifi led as I was doing things in the wrong order.... however we got there in the end. I have also added it to Google Home so I can operate it using that as well.
