Haven't watched the video yet - I will but I appreciate that you review all of these and respect your opinions. I already bought these and think the drums suck - really disappointing considering the I love the kontakt drum player libraries. The keys are okay - I like some of the arps, but could have been so much better. leap is okay as well. Not a must buy bought i bought it anyone so NI won! I appreciate you. G

I already know that majority of the comments will say this and it so crazy because I know you guys hear it in my voice and the video but I know I had an obligation to review it for the community. I appreciate your reviews of these and I'm glad you take them all on regardless of how you feel about them. It's getting to the point where i need to start getting a little pickier about auto-buying these things. I haven't watched your video yet - I will - but I already bought the package and I think the drums suck. I realize we're going for italio disco here but they still suck and it's really disappointing cause I love the setup of the kontakt player drum libraries and this could have been great, but it sounds like a bunch of 4 year-olds picked the sounds. The keys are okay - I like the arps but nothing really jumps out at me and I'm still on the fence about leaP-it could have been so much better. Having said that, I am working on a song initiated by this purchase and I think it's going to be great so I guess I can give NI some credit for that - although I used CIRCLES DISCO DRUMS instead of the Italo ones. Now it will be interesting to watch your video to see what you thought. Cheers, man! G

@ they sound similar but if you listen closely the computer version sounds better. If you make a beat using it you wouldn’t notice it . I use kontakt and other plugins with software . The software puts out a crisp sound on the Mpc it puts out a thick analog sound. I don’t know why when the Mpc runs off a software but it puts out a thicker sound like hardware .

after using the plugins for a full day it’s a game changer using the touch screen I can get multiple sounds out of one sound . You said that we didn’t get the best but the things you can do 🤯 I had kontakt for over a year the sounds are amazing I have access to the library but those plugins on standalone is a game changer because of the sound manipulation using the touchscreen , I use the touchscreen like an instrument.

Just personal opinion because I have the Komplete 15 Collectors Edition so yeah it's not the extreme best but you can do anything with NI sounds. So for that I will agree with you. I 100% agree with you Let's go back izotope they was the first I think to work with NI. I think everything NI is doing is a learning experience. I'm going to give you an example before I build a product everybody wants let's see how the software works.

The only thing that I can think of at this point is that if NI came up with a future Kontrol S Series that would finally have DRUMPADS actually on the midi controller. Pretty much something to think about.🤔🤔😏😏😏

I bought all 3 plugins the sounds are dope but when I compare the sounds to fabric xl and hype the sounds from fabric and hype are a bit more higher quality than Ni . I got in so many fights in the past about people saying Ni has the best sound and is unmatched. I was trying to tell them that fabric xl and reasons are right at their level now it’s confirmed 😂😂😂😂

I used to have Reason 5 (started with 2) and I could create the sound I have now when it comes to production. Back in the day they had packs but you have to use Recycle or another to chop up the sounds to be used in the Rex Player or etc. But I have to be honest and saw let's see because I don't know what NI is doing smh lol Appreciate the input and for coming through and checking out the vid and the channel! Hey Pulse, There's no need to purchase the native instruments expansions if you already owned them in the past. I just uploaded a video showing how to get those same expansions in your Akai hardware for FREE...

Different versions of Leap will be available based off of the versions of Komplete. But if you get the Komplete Collection Edition you will have them all. Weell, of course this is exciting... Bringing kontakt on stage "the SAFE way" is huge. Having kontakt in a 37 keys standalone unit you can travel with is HUGE. A few more steps and MPC key will be the perfect device. But as a Komplete Ultimate user, I feel angry to be forced to buy libraries I already own... NI / Akai you gotta do something about it. Also, I'm waiting for more interesting libraries to be availaible on MPC, I'm thinking of Session guitarists and bassists, Action strings and woodwinds, Lores, Fables, Playbox, Ashlight, Kithara... And for the real game changer, bring Dreamtonics SynthesizerV to MPC world, add MPE synths, build a brand new series with loads of RAM and boom, you have it, the PERFECT WEAPON...

The Kontrol Keyboard and the MPC Key61 don’t overlap much. They serve two different audiences. If a creator prefers standalone and dealing with a few limitations, go with the MPC Keys. If you are in the box and want to have deep control of all your plugins, from selecting sound to editing without touching the mouse, go with kontrol keyboards. I think this is smart by Native because giving the Akai users who previously stayed away for NI a taste, might lead them to try other products.

😂 Why not just use Kontakt 8 as a vst inside of your MPC & load up any Play Series instrument to your hearts' contempt ? This is a rather useless merger imho bc most ppl already have Kontakt 8.

Because some people prefer to not be in the box. Generate ideas on standalone, stem it out, finish and mix in a DAW. Plus MPC 3 is standalone only so in order to use Kontakt with MPC 3, midi cables and audio cables have to be hooked up just to use a couple of sounds out of Analog Dreams. Providing a few expansions that provide convenient and quality sounds is mutually beneficial for NI and the MPC 3 user. But you do make a valid point, but convenience is king if time is limited. Much respect to you.

I told you’ll stop listening to Bolo when he said stick with NI just to watch them kick out MK2 users I instead jumped ship and got an MPC One Plus. Be careful of these influencers influencing your purchases. I was about to get a Maschine plus and saw the writings on the wall and Maschine 3.0 solidified it for me.

Just would have got a cheap used MK3. MK2 come out in like 2012, discontinuing legacy gear was expected. If your workflow was on point with maschine, MK3 would have been the wave. Familiarity with your tools and workflow > updates. But congrats on the MPC, hope you like it because it is a dope machine. Must respect to you.

@ NI is clearly into software and less into hardware which is evidenced by the lack of innovation with Maschine and them turning to the dark side 😂 and teaming up with Akai. NI is done with hardware.

@ You might be right. They might go the Sega route. I’m a MPC user, but have used the maschine, recently. Honestly, it might not have all the bells and whistles, but it is super capable. Can really make some heat in Maschine. Hopefully NI don’t completely abandon it.

Well they aren't getting away for it as they just announced on IG the other day that they are doing a Maschine Plus update soon. So we will see that hape s with that. They seem to operate on what they believe is best for their customers instead of listening to what the customers want. They all do it. Just look at Propeller Head they've been dropping the ball for decades. That is good news about Maschine Plus.

It’s not like NI isn’t making money from it, they’re selling the expansions and big difference between NI and MPC keys 61 is that it’s a standalone not just a controller. and it’s not like anyone is stopping NI users from buying an MPC, why does it have to be one brand or the other?

I think that's where the majority of the issue is though because business is about competition though and making the other brand better. Why does it have to be one brand or another........and your answer is a very modern one for sure. But becoming the best to then give the keys over to your opposition??? @@PULSEMusicGroup Personally I use Native Instrument hardware and software, Akai Software and hardware, Arturia software and hardware, Korg software and hardware, I have Roland, Moog and others brands in my studio, and maybe you didnt know it, but Akai is actually owned by InMusic...which also own Alesis, Moog, BFS, AIR, M audio and others. I dont see how NI and Akai collaborating on something is a big issue, just because you didnt benefit from it its a bad thing? Rappers and artist collaborate. Are you telling me you have no other plugins besides Native Instruments plugins? I think its a brilliant move by Native Instruments because now they are selling their products to Akai users and given that there are a TON of Akai stand alone MPC users and Mpc Keys users vs stand alone Machine users...and its not like you can't use ALL of Native Instruments software with MPC desktop already anyway.

So far the MPC only has a small collection of play series instruments and expansions. I will say the MPC sounds the best it ever has with those new sounds but you still have all the other NI instruments.

That is what everyone has been saying but I been a NI user since day one with Cubase and that is my workflow. To change it up now wouldn't really benefit because of the keyboard. But it's a matter of preference for everyone. 💯💯💯

@@PULSEMusicGroupthat's the thing. The MPC desktop software is zero completion to Cubase. That's MPCs biggest weakness, followed by a lack of professional sounds, which it's been working on. But there's no excuse for how bad the desktop software is.

Totally get that family. I have been hearing about the software issues and battle that the MPC community has been dealing with. But if they ever get it right man.......they gonna be the top of the game for sure. I have been thinking about getting a MPC 37 Key but I love tht Kontrol 61 and my setup so much. They don't get the whole play series patches and control. As far as the kits I'll still use Kit maker. I'm not paying for this stuff to be in standalone. I'll use the software in controller mode and have access to everything. The processor on the standalone won't be able to handle all the expansions.

That is true as far as the processor won't be able to handle all of the expansions unless they find a way to compress them and make them available........you just never know. I actually never thought this would happen........And here we are smh lol so I don't say what can and can't happen any more lol I did know that they had Kit Maker but I heard that was a process within itself. That’s a fair point. Standalone devices like the MPC and Maschine+ definitely have limitations when it comes to processing power, so they’re not going to handle the full range of Play Series patches and features as seamlessly as software in controller mode. Kit Maker is still a solid workaround if you’re converting kits and want more flexibility without relying on standalone features. And honestly, staying in controller mode gives you access to the full power of your system and all expansions without worrying about hardware bottlenecks. Standalone sounds great in theory, but the compromises can make it less appealing for serious production workflows.

Personally, very good news, I use MPC and the next 3.0 software is announced as a real daw. The Beat bundle is good ( especially Empire Breaks !!) but the most interesting for me is the Electronic bundle with instruments like the Rickenbacker bass, the Gentleman piano, session guitarist, studio drummer, iZotope, … this is only the beginning, I would for example KARRIEM RIGGINS DRUMS… And the bundle is Free :)

That’s a solid perspective, and I can see how exciting this news is for MPC users. The upcoming 3.0 software looking like a true DAW is definitely a game-changer for workflow. The bundles, especially with additions like Empire Breaks and the Electronic bundle instruments, are undeniably valuable, particularly for producers who want a variety of high-quality sounds. However, while it’s great that these tools are now compatible with MPC, it raises questions about Native Instruments’ priorities when their own flagship hardware like the Maschine+ isn’t getting these updates. Adding something like Karriem Riggins Drums to the bundle would be incredible, but it’s frustrating for long-time NI users who feel left out of the innovation loop. Yes, the bundle being free is a win, but only if it serves all users equally. This could be a promising direction, but it’ll take more inclusivity to fully win over loyalists.

I think that would be a very fair assumption to say that but would they accommodate NI for that because to have there sounds on NI platform does what really???? Akai has ok sounds but NOT like NI. @@PULSEMusicGroup As a long time MPC user, I completely agree that NI sounds blow MPC out of the water and there's really no advantage for Maschine users to have access to most MPC libraries. However, what would be good is if NI provided a MPC specifically for their customers to use with the stand-alone libraries of Machine+. So Akai would make money off the hardware and NI would make money off the software and both sets of customers get the best of both works in stand-alone.

And to be honest thats what it seems like but then NI went online yesterday and spoke to the community about there will be a update for Maschine +............so that kind of takes that thought away.
