After seminar everybody is obvious that Yuko score is totally meaningless and excessive. Who ever complained about concise Wazari and Ippon scores? No one!!! Why you decided to fix something which is not broken? So silly, to make rules confused instead of easy like before

What’s the deal with the rule #6 ? What’s wrong with using hands instead of grabbing gi? It’s like their philosophy is: if that’s easy and works it must be „negative judo” 😂

Rule 4. Most expected topic and most confusing definition. "LEG GRABBING, GRIPPING THE TROUSERS AND TOUCHING THE LEG FROM THE TOP OF THE INNER THIGHS DOWN IS FORBIDDEN". Does it mean that NO LEG grabbing is still allowed or only from INNER THIGHS? What about OUTER THIGHS? If outer is now allowed, this must be told in the Rule!!! If LEG GRABBING prohibited in general, why not to say it in simple words? Isn't it obvious?

Buttocks and two hands behind is a Yuko now or still wazari due to risk of arm injury? Video examples are confusing.
@openeyes-b1f10 күн бұрын
Rule like this MUST never be out: Positive activity in ne-waza will be taken into consideration. 😷🤕 What does this mean? You have to always specify what is considered positive activity (if you introduce a term, it needs to be clearly explained), and what is behind "will be taken in consideration" must be explained as well. How exactly is will in taken into consideration, different from now? It is already taken! Osaikomi 10 sec - wazari, osaikomi 20 sec - ippon! Crystal clear! Well now added nonsensical Yuko for 5 sec. Who and why is inventing meaningless, confusing and excessive rules? Getting back Kankoku seoi nage is a great decision. Bravo! But Yuko - why to make Judo again unnecessary confusing? And please reformulate text - all this "top inner thigh" stuff is simply too much
@openeyes-b1f10 күн бұрын
YUKO objections. It is vey confusing decision. Unnecessary and excessive extra score value. There is a wise saying: DON'T FIX WHAT"S NOT BROKEN! Who and why was initiating adding confusing and excessive Yuko score? Meaningless 5 sec extra osaikomi evaluation. Why? Who needs that? Does it mean, 15 sec, will be assessed as 1 wazari + 1 Yuko? 10 and 20 sec osaikomi was well enough. Very miserable and controversial difference between Wizari and re-introduced Yuko! Rules before were striving to be clearer and obvious to spectators, why to make it again confusing? Everybody was clear and fine with Wizari and Ippon scores and definition. There were no controversies about. What is the sacral meaning to break bright consensus by introducing controversial extra score and spoiling Wazari? What is the sacral meaning for extra osaikomi evaluation? Is that just to justify bringing Yuko back to the Rules? My personal opinion: Yuko is a meaningless, confusing and excessive score rule. With Yuko we make Judo again less understandable and controversial. Let's get back to the common sense. No need to fix something which was good enough.

I believe some of these changes will allow to reduce the golden score matches a little, let's see what happens. What I can't get my head around, is how come a judoka scoring 20 yukos can be beaten by his opponent with 1 waza-ari?

It is wise decision to keep no leg grabs. But rule is very confusing formulated. It looks like prohibited from insight, but OK from outside. Sadly very ignorant wording

@@openeyes-b1f it is wise by your standards. Many have just different view. There’s nothing wrong with the one hand leg grabs.

Excellent language, IFJ. I have no idea what some of the rules are saying, and I'm a lawyer.. Edit: Why are people mentioning irrelevant professions? My job is literally about words--written and oral interpretation and argument. I wouldn't comment on a video with math and say "I don't understand this, and I'm a lawyer" because being a lawyer doesn't make you an expert at math. Just like being an engineer doesn't make you an expert at interpreting text.

Whole lot of nothing. What rules 3 and 4 mean exactly? Is this the most concise wording they could come up with? So you can touch the very top of the thigh but no grabbing and hooking allowed, meaning leg grabs are not back? Simply no shido If you touch opponent slightly below the belt?
@StuntTriple10 күн бұрын

Hi. Currently if you grip just under the belt is consider shido, but with this rule you can grab the lower jacket without penalty, but if you do to block the opponent, that's negative judo, hence shido.

As a beginner in judo with almost a month of training (and previously a year of freestyle wrestling), during today's tournament I got a 🥈 just because I struggled dealing with one of my opponent's stiff arms. He also has his butt back like he's gonna try to throw me with sumi gaeshi or tomoe nage. Now I know what to work on during my next practice. Thank you so much sensei Travis!!! 🙌🏻🥋💪🏻
