Nice try! 🙂 I am able to climb on paracord for significant heights and to descend slowly, but rappeling I think is one of the most riskful manovers to do with paracord. That is because paracord is made of nylon and it is not heat-resistant. Rappeling relies on friction, friction heats up the cord, and paracord melts pretty easily when exposed to heat.

DEFINITELY not for holding the weight of a person. And absolutely not while rappelling. Climbing rope is rated 26kn this paracord is not even 3kn... 1kn is 225lbs of force for those of you who arnt climbers

Its better to run the exhaust brake when starting. The whole reason it whistles is because the ecm closes the vanes in the vgt turbo to heat the engine faster. Its also better on the turbo itself if you run it all the time. The exhaust brake keeps the vanes moving which will help keep them from being sooted up and getting stuck in place. I've got a 2012 2500 6.7 that I've put 30k miles on in the last year and a half and I run mine everyday.

I had a bug out kit when I worked on the 5th floor with paracord and a swiss seat rope and a U clamp. Of course I would double it up. Never had to use it. Yeah !
