Do you have tips on how you can strum and not hit the not encluded strings?

Generally I mute strings I don't play with my index finger, if I'm fretting the G string I mute the D string with the tip of the finger and the B and E string with the knuckles, for lower strings either I try not to hit them from strumming (takes some practice) or I wrap my thumb around to mute. Hope this helps!
