Thank you for saying that and for watching! The curtains are close to blackout and it was very dark for the kids. The crib was not provided by Disney, though they do provide pack n plays. We wanted a crib for our littlest one, and used a company called Baby’s Away (not sponsored). They had the crib delivered and ready for us at our room, and came and picked it up at check-out-it was super smooth. I hope you have a great trip!

I just wanted to let you know that I did check out the Disney’s Hilton Island resort in South Carolina that you just shared on KZbin today, and I spoke with the front desk and they said that it takes 45 minutes from Savannah so if I wanted to come to that resort, I have about to fly into Savannah Georgia intake either There’s two Shuttle companies there is a nearly Island Shuttle, or there is a Polite Shuttle that can take me from the Savannah international airport to that location so once again if I’m gonna come into that area, I would either have to get off Amtrak in Savannah or I’ve had to fly into Savannah and then go about an extra 45 minutes to get to that resort

We love The Fort, I’ll admit it’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking to go a little cheaper this is the place. We go the week before Halloween, our son has a Fall Break and it’s usually the week we go. We tow our camper down from Kentucky and stop around Atlanta for the night, and it’s a shorter day to The Fort. We’re going back October 2025, we had plans to go this year but we had some other things come up, in our small business. But hey that’s the thing about owning a small business, things change. We love it and we usually do less park days because we love it so much. We usually hit Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and then do Mickeys Halloween Party. Next year will be our third time there and I don’t think we’d stay anywhere else down there. If we didn’t take our camper we’d get a cabin, because there’s so many things to do there as opposed to other resorts.

Thanks for sharing all of this! I think the week before Halloween would be perfect, for the decor and the weather around the Fort. Our stay really made me a believer in this place and my kids keep asking about it! Hoping you have a great trip in 2025!

The pool bar was changed about 2 years ago. It got worse. They changed to having only pre packaged food that they heat up versus making it fresh. It's Disney cost cutting. Just like they changed trails end restaurant to a quick service and removed some of the food. But overall it's still great because you can go to other places on Disney property to eat... Like taking the boat over to Contemporary and eating lunch there.

The change to prepackaged options is not great; we obviously couldn’t make any substitutions on any of the food, and what we did get was not good. And Trail’s End was also good not great but it had some of the essentials. I agree that the proximity to Seven Seas Lagoon dining options makes up for it.

I understand the sentiment. I just got back from a stay in the original cabins and loved it and already miss the log cabin look. It would’ve been nice to retain that look but modernize the interior

I think you might want to put the cell away now with 3 little ones and enjoy your vacation. Tuck a hand towel in your backpack to wipe seats off....slow down and enjoy😊.

By the way, if you do early check-in and stay in cabins, your cabin will be ready and you can use your magic band or phone to go directly to your room. You can take internal buses to the front of the cabin loop instead of waiting for cast member.

This is helpful! We had checked in and our cabin was ready but we wanted our golf cart first. Do you usually take your luggage with you on bus straight to cabin? And if so, do you head back to Reception Outpost on bus to get your golf cart (assuming you rent one)?

We would take the bus if we needed to otherwise we would take the car since we would have one. But we have been camping with rv last couple times.

That’s good to know. If we don’t have our car next time we will likely go straight to cabin, and then I’ll head back to snag the golf cart (if we get one).

If you love arcades and love the Fort you can take the boat over to Wilderness Lodge and use the arcade there and explore. The Disney transportation is great. And yea, food at the pool is not good. Ever since they removed the all you can eat buffet at trails end, food quality is not good anymore. With the app though, you can order a family meal of fried or grilled chicken that you can only order in the app. By the way, they won't provide towels because it's mostly campers and rvs which people can start walking away with.

I do like the arcades and specially the one at WL-that’s a great tip. I didn’t know they had a buffet at Pioneer hall; do you remembered when and why it closed down? And that makes sense about the towels, and we just showed up ready to have fun and were expecting them to be there!

They got rid of buffet because Disney says guests wanted a quick service. Don't think that's a good reason or if that's true. I think it was good the way it was.

It's great to see what really happens during a stay. We love the Fort. Even when it rains it's fun. Just go with the flow. Also, the comfort stations have washer and dryer.

Is that cabin open for anyone to tour? I'd love to see one in person before booking a stay. Looking at the video I think I prefer the old rustic look over modern. The new ones feel more like a Hilton and not camping to me personally.

Yes, there’s a DVC kiosk outside Pioneer Hall (at least on weekdays). I agree that the rustic charm is gone, which is a shame, though I am very impressed with the modern, updated feel. If only they would’ve added some logs to the exterior, or something that reflects the existing cabins!

Hi! The answer is yes and no. APs need a theme park reservation to enter a theme park before 2PM. On weekdays after 2PM APs can enter any park without a theme park reservation. On Saturdays and Sundays, a park pass is required for APs at Magic Kingdom even if entering after 2PM; this weekend requirement does not apply to EPCOT, AK, or DHS. Hope that helps!
