Dear @Sam Herman - Great video, thanks for uploading! Could I kindly use the video for a short demo on AI/computer vision (i.e., for commercial purposes)? Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany, Scott 🙂

Fun fact, occupational exposures, twisting, lifting, etc are not actually found to cause new back problems (although obviously they can exacerbated existing problems). Also fun fact good back care principles training does not reduce back pain complaints.

This is all very true but when you work in a warehouse that wants to lift quick fast its kind of hard to lift the correct way thru out the work day

I love how they cropped the video everytime the first guy was picking things up so we couldn't see his equipment still going forward while he wasn't controlling it 😆

Good video on things below 50 pounds the problem is im working in the meat department and we get boxes of grinds over 60 pounds each and boxes of pork over 70 pounds each. Pork is easier because they are wider boxes with holes you can stick your hands in but those fucking boxes of grinds are killing me bulky and no holes to stick handles in. Still upvote for being one of the more useful vids in this department but ill keep looking.

watching this as i lay in bed with lower back pain from my job 🙃 not a warehouse worker but I work in a library where I do discards and processing so I'm lifting extremely heavy boxes of books and trashbags of old books and it's been really taking a toll on me

Five tips when lifting heavy 1.Stand a little wide-legged close and in front of what is to be lifted. 2. Try to keep your back straight and bend your knees and hips. Grasp what is to be lifted, stretch your legs and hips and carry the object close the body. 4. You should not bend and at the same time turn your body when lifting. 5. Lower the object by bending the knees and hips. Keep your back straight at all times

Is this American Seaway Foods/Giant Eagle’s warehouse? It looks EXACTLY like it. Anyway, I would say these practices would work but the problem isn’t the technique, but the pace you have to work, how low those 2nd shelves are and how heavy the products are and how many to get. I lifted properly for years and still popped a Sciatic nerve and a degenerative disc in my lower back from lifting. These techniques are only good if you’re not picking multiple items a day.

And.. I see all these video's about lifting from the ground up. But what if you're taking 40 pound crates out of shelves above shoulder height? What's the best posture to do that while standing in a narrow space in the back of a truck for example? Thanks, anyone, for tips and tricks!

I wouldn't call this a safety video. Not even the basics like gloves, safety boots or hi vis being used in the warehouse but it has computers analysing strain on the body.

I use to work for KROGER DC warehouse and I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone It's a very physical job with time limit there is no way you can lift correctly your items. I injured my back and knee. KROGER's warehouse is like the NAZI concentration camp. Please don't support companies who are treating people like shit and making billions of dollars cause we support them by purchasing our groceries by them. STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY.

I might be getting a job like this pretty soon so I just wanted to see how everything works, but this helps too. This stuff is pretty basic though if up used to or still workout. Learn this when you deadlift and all that.
