Don Ladanyi, local to Clev back in the day was a promoter / manager in the late 60's, early 70's was on a local radio show WWWM w. Walt Maskey, 1979'ish and was playing DEMO's of Carmen's material and this was one of the songs played as a Demo. It was mostly piano, some over-dubs, minimal percussion, different tempo / back up vocals . . . much much better version. This is NOT a fast song, but somehow Carmen changed it in the studio. I'm sure that material is long hidden away somewhere. If DON READS THIS . . I'd like to say DUDE, you need to POST THAT STUFF!

This is beautiful! He has such a soft voice, like Dennis´. I´m always happy to hear covers of BB songs that i love and which just don´t get enough recognition.

One of the greatest singles of the 80s. I loved this band and feel they deserve more recognition. And a new release.

One of the best unknown power pop songs ever. Hoehn's very slightly different solo version of this is on his "Losing You to Sleep" album.

Although it sounds like Marr, the guitar playing is actually by Mark Nevin. (I remember reading this somewhere a long time ago, after I had previously assumed it was Marr too.)

The disjointed, out of context comments in the old format of KZbin from 10--16 years ago, where you can't tell what was being replied to in the first place, are really bizarre.

Strange how much influence HRH Noel has over your musical opinions. I heard NG say he could only like this song when he was sure that Phil Collins wasn't playing on it. Although I didn't universally enjoy everything PC did, his abilities as a drummer, musician and front man are unquestionable.

I used to walk into Titus Oaks Records on LI NY here in the 80s and they always had a few walls of the latest indie vinyl releases up, plus some end cap displays...and I noticed they always had Marti's latest LPs up there, and I would then buy each of them as they came out, having heard her here on college radio. NOT WLIR FM who never even played her, which is criminal but whatever, it didn't fit in with the "new wave" teeny bopper sound I guess. But someone at Titus Oaks clearly had very good taste.

Remember seeing them at the sold out gig in The Garage in Glasgow on the Friday night, then was invited into the soundcheck at the empty Venue in Edinburgh the day after.
