Do you know by chance if they do Rasp PT during 68W AIT?? The only thing I’m worried about is getting time to workout during basic and AIT

Ahh man great advice I feel like I’m screwed now I signed a basic 68W without a option 4 or 40 for airborne or ranger. Is there anything I can do? Will I have to opportunity to volunteer for those later down the road? If so is that a hard thing to get accepted into to be able to go to rasp and so on?
@stephd7310Ай бұрын
I paid for the entire train like a ranger workout plan 3 years ago and it is solely what got me in shape and prepared and also what pushed me through OSUT, Airborne school, and SFAS

Isn’t ranger considered special forces?
@chase16600Ай бұрын
Special forces only refers to green berets. It is confusing. Special operations refers to Seals, rangers, pj, marsoc, combat controllers, swcc, and green berets. But special forces is only a term for green berets.

im 20 in ait sam h. for 68w right now. my acft is 530, but i decided not to sign Rasp Volunteer because i dont feel physically ready. My drill sergants think i should do it, but I still have a lot of work to put in. My plan is to get paramedic level education to be a stud at socom and get physically fit to push 580+ on my acft. I want to prepare well and take my time in doing it right the first time. I joined the army instead of the marines just to have a career in the regiment, and even better as a medic. Anyone have any thoughts on my decision?

I’m doing your tier 1 2 month workout pull day. It has 3 bicep workouts. Is it 3 3x10 for each of them or just 1 3x10 for each ?

How can you make this exercise harder?
@TrainLikeaRanger4 ай бұрын
More reps, longer time, or you can go to lift one foot and do the exercise with only sliding one foot while keeping the other foot hovering off the ground and then alternating sides

15:15 reminds me of Saving Private Ryan where Tom Hanks' character states "Gripes go up, not down. Always up. You gripe to me, I gripe to my superior officer, so on, so on, and so on. I don't gripe to you."

This is like an army basic training exercise but i prefer a machine
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
Is this supplemental to the adductor machine's??
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
I always thought this was kind of a werid excersie experience for like 30 plus minutes etc I supplement for either box jumps or the Stair Machine for 15 minutes

How important do you think the elbows in is? The ranger school perfect push up? Is that enforced in rasp as well?
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
I think this is a great stretching excersices but for an hit workout in your program I subsuited this for up and down planks
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
I learned to make this more simpler at the gym is to use a dumbell it's easier and faster and you don't really see guys doing this this is a prominent female excersice
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
Why are reverse lunges so much harder than forward lunges? Does that mean I should focus more on reverse lunges than anything else?
@chrisfarrell91318 ай бұрын
How would you in your opinion compare this exercise to Squat thrusters?? I just finished your 6 month program and I supplemented this excersice with Squat thrusters I'm not very good at power cleaning heavy and I have bad form and don't Squat alot during the power cleans. Squat thrusters is a front Squat with explosiveness and its very cardio exhausting. I also replaced normal front Squats with Squat thrusters

Question, when doing this the first time my abs were on fire, which is a good sign of course. Thing is though as I kept doing the sliding tucks it felt like my hip flexors were getting more engaged than my abs, in fact I barely felt engagement in abs, is it supposed to be this way?
@Jamesbauer345128 ай бұрын
Not an expert or anything but that means ur doing them wrong. That means the hip flexors are doing most of the work and your abs are getting very little out of it
@TrainLikeaRanger6 ай бұрын
Definitely gonna have hip Flexor engagement with this, but focus on that core engagement and pelvic tilt (posterior) try to focus on engaging your core throughout the exercise. If you experience any discomfort or just want to modify I suggest swapping these with bicycle crunches or just regular crunches to limit hip flexor engagement. Some people have weak hip flexors so this exercise can be appropriate but truth be told it does involve alot of hip flexor engagement, similar to sit ups
@TrainLikeaRanger6 ай бұрын
You can also do planks in place of this many other options to throw in, it's a good exercise but it just depends on your preference and training goals
