This is probably the heaviest grinder of all 6 Final Fantasy remasters. The music is the best I've ever heard it. The sprite work and cutscenes are enough to make your inner child happy. None of the Advanced content is here...and that actually does NOT bother me. Surprising, I know. And I didn't find this out until I almost made it to the end...there's an accelerator that can speed up the ability points and levelling 4 times faster.

Wow, the battle system for this game is pretty crazy! Different from Shin Megami but just as fun. I'm thinking of getting this since it's currently on Black Friday sale via Nintendo E-shop.

I played Wiz 6, 7 and 8 in the time. I want a remake of Wiz 8! Again two mages as magical glass cannons in my party. And a choose between fine tuned enemy strength progression and the original brutal enemy strength on the street from monastry to the first city. Labyrinth of Lost Souls looks like Wiz 6 at most.

Daybreak was definitely, by far, the easiest Trails game on Nightmare/Abyss difficulty. In addition to your mention of ark feather / s-craft spam I hope shields get nerfed a little. I found they were too powerful and negated almost any need to play defensively. In the preview (or any media you've seen) have they re-introduced any other series traditions from past games back into DB2? I missed the end of combat banter between partners and/or groups (depending on how combat finished). It felt like Daybreak 1 struggled to fully flesh out into what it could have been due to the new engine and time constraints. Either way though, super excited to get into DB2 early next year, thanks for the coverage.

Hell yes. I just finished Daybreak a few weeks ago, and it's an incredible game. I'm also a big Suikoden fan, so the dead end system seems like a new twist on the trinity system from Suikoden 3. I was already excited for Daybreak 2, but this preview has kicked that up significantly. Another great video. Thanks!

my 4th venture into Dragon quest 3 after playing the NES ,SNES version and Switch version released a year or so ago. I am psyched since Dragon Quest is the best and one I find even more personal and better then Final Fantasy. No offence to fans saying that I enjoy Final Fantasy just differently.

One thing im very worried about are the side quest quality, this is a constant gripe i have with jrpgs in general, im not expecting BG 3 or The witcher 3 level side quests but something that does not feel like an afterthought would be very nice, so im wondering have you experienced anything regarding side quests?
