That zonker on there made it 10/10. White wolly bugger is one of my go to creek flys for panfish and small bass. I got alot of carp around here. Gonna have to tie some for the carp. Ive caught some 3-4 foot gar this year on thr fly rod and its been so fun.

Gar must be so fun on a fly rod, that sounds amazing.

I was so jaded, I went out just for some photography and saw these giant carp. Like CMON!! When I go back next time I will be ready. That usually my pattern when it comes to fishing. 1. Go fishing, 2. Get skunked, 3. Tie flies for the next time... Anyway, hope you enjoyed the video!

Camera lens to close. Can’t see the whole fly or the tying!!!!!

Sorry about that, I cant always gauge how close or how far to be. Sometimes focusing on the tail first, then showing the body is the best option. I will improve on this though, thanks for the feedback.

Go to your local bait and tackle shop and ask for catfish hooks. You'll find many that approximate the size shape and style of this hook nicely.

Great video man! Seems like a more "old school" pattern. I wonder why the up-turned eye has *seemingly* gone out of style or favor. It seems like they would ride in the water better than a down-eye. Thanks again and have a great weekend!!

Thanks man, yeah its from an old pack of size 10 up eyed hooks, they are one of my favorite hooks, thick gauge too. They make for great lookin flies (especially when you bend the hook up a little). Have a good one man, tight lines!

For sure! as long as it imitates that shiny off-white wing color, and helps the fly float, your good to go. I like Bucktail for that reason, floats like crazy. Good luck to you.

@@tommasoannoni4836 Believe it or not, This pattern imitates nymphs in the water. Nymphs are the immature stage of a mayfly's life (A bug that resides in many streams and rivers). The Black beauty fly is great for beginner fly tyers! The black beauty is a simple and effective nymph. It is an attractor pattern that requires minimal materials and basic techniques. This can be tied in a variety of colors aswell. If you're a beginner fly tier or are interested, this fly is for you. Hook: Size 16-24 Thread: Black 8/0 (70 denier). Body: Thread Head: fine-super fine black dubbing Adhesive: Head cement P.S.- I use pine squirrel dubbing instead because i do not own black dubbing but pine squirrel is just as buggy.
