That was fun! I had gotten some of these markers a while back, and played a little, mostly just making marks to see how they blend, but didn't get much further than that because I thought, "Why not just use watercolor?" So I put them away and went back to my watercolor. So this was a good little demonstration, and I enjoyed painting with you. Thanks! 😃

I have had a set of these markers and also a set of Jane Davenport watercolor markers for about 6 years or more. I love doing watercolor lettering. I can tell you these markers are still working and like you said "some better than others." That's impressive for inexpensive markers. Your flowers are great and watching your video is making me want to get out my markers and play. I also prefer using my nicer watercolor brushes to blend them. Thank you for a great video. Have you tried Karin Watercolor Brush markers? I adore them. There's a definite learning curve with them but they are super-juicy! Super pricey, sadly.

I'll search your videos to see if you've covered this, but could you please show how to start with a pencil sketch and multiple watercolor pencil colors to make blends and by leaving white space where the light is supposed to hit? For instance, I'm attempting my third painting now of a pumpkin sitting out in a field, in front of mountains, with a stone walkway in front of it and hay under the pumpkin. So, I'm using 4 watercolor pencil colors in the pumpkin, 3 on the hay, 3 in the sky, etc. How do you hide the pencil sketch in the final piece? I find that it's easier for me to have outlines on pieces such as this... Thank you!❤❤❤

You're an amazing teacher and I just got my markers today, so I'm stoked to make people bookmarkers that I'll deliver to the local nursing home with books. I just began dabbling in watercolor and watercolor pencils about a week ago then yesterday I saw someone make fall leaves with these markers. So, I jumped on Amazon and they were here overnight! Anyway, you've taught me more in 5 min so far than I've learned in every watercolor video I've watched in the last week... Thank you for offering your beautiful knowledge for free on KZbin. I can't afford private lessons and this is a great way to learn such fun mediums ❤❤❤

Brand matters. I used canson graduate paper and chromatek 55 ct watercolor pens and they require very little water and no pressure to blend out. it is easy to lose definition and blend everything into 1 solid color. I did the dark centers of the petals and then drew a petal shape with the water brush next to the centers (no touching) and then gently let the pigment flow into the water. I can guide it a little, but if I do too much, it all blends into one color. I can't add details and rewet the paper (i.e. the red purple addition to the purple flower) without ruining the details I already had. Whatever colors I put down have to be right the first time. It's very hard to cover up mistakes because the pigment is strong and stains the paper quickly.
