Now that the Left has all the power, 50 years later, they want to silence everyone who disagrees, through cancel culture. The tables have been turned, it seems. I agree with Archie's patriotism. Progressives are naively handing over the USA to Communist China on a platter and betraying their own country in the process. Archie was right all along.

it is 100% Elton. Listen to his live performances from 2011.
I remember reading somewhere this was Diana’s favorite Elton song. He should’ve sung it at her funeral instead of recycling Candle In The Wind.

I am one who had 3 albums by Ackles, but never ran into anyone who had heard of him. The label(s) failed the artist. Not all that unusual, artists like Tim Buckley, Leonard Cohen are not Pop. Usually the author of a song delivers the definitive version of what they write and record. I newness, the originality make experience have much more weight. To me, it is unusual for a cover to compete with the initial work. Sometimes a cover becomes a huge hit, and if that is the listeners first impression, then the cover can have equal impact. These two artists believe that David Ackles influence shaped who they are musically. That is a great tribute to Ackles. Their intent was not to imitate, but to hopefully expose new listeners to his music. To say they missed the mark is nonsense. To invite them to stick to their own material is quite an attempt to slander them. Their catalogs have been and will be above reproach. If you can’t accept any of this, then go buy any or all of Ackles on CD. And while your at it, keep you stupid statements to yourself.
