Thanks for sharing another great time in your wonderful office Clark. You get my vote for Australian of the year. I hope you and Judy and Josie and the real stars of your channels are staying safe with the way the weather has been lately around the Sth Burnett and the other affected areas. Crossing everything in the hope that my shooting trip won't be flooded out. Regards Mark from Redlands.

That caught dog on the video, question: did you just educate all those other dogs about traps? they watched the one dog actually get caught.
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry18 сағат бұрын
This is the continuous problem that we face. Yes, I educated the rest. Some learn but not well enough and get caught in the next trap, which then educates the survivors even more. Trap scratchers then emerge, dogs that will remember the steel any time they smell disturbed dirt or human scent. Same goes for poison baits, dogs that see pack members die slowly from baits, learn not to touch them. Hard issue to get around, you need to change up your tactics to meet the challenge
@fgb312622 сағат бұрын
So, basically Clark, what you are recommending is to make these deer into a game animal, rather than a feral pest?
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry18 сағат бұрын
Not necessarily. Australia is a very complex hunting situation with all our main "Game" series being introduced animals. I see them as a resource, an asset, a badly managed primary product. We are the ones that have failed all our introduced feral species, with continual very poor judgement and management.

I've seen Nathan down south of you (NSW?) - KZbin channel 'Edge of the Outback' - who shoots goats on sight. So, I guess that means that Australia's states are in different situations viz. feral animals? And speaking of differences, Queensland looks very flat, more so than NSW. I wonder why? Geological forces of course.

Clark great trap line in Barcy. I know you want to show it as it is but - is it worth putting a disclaimer up on screen at the start to stop some of the woke censorship Something like - 'this is a trapping and hunting video. Animals are shot. Don't watch if you don't like this content'. I see it one some other hunting channels I watch. Don't know the Facebook rules.

Your way of raising children and dogs makes sense on a profound scale. Life can only be learned by living. The more they are exposed to, the less they get surprised, and the more they face life with confidence. My question for the day is, how do you decide which pup from a litter to keep and add to the roster?

Hey mate, I love watching your content, your a man of knowledge. I’m from Kangaroo Island, I started shearing when I was about 21. After a year I ended up heading to Queensland with a mate and I done this every year for 6pm u years. I shore from Cunnamulla to Quilpie, Charleville to Barcaldine, Longreach and Winton and a lot of little town like Isisford. I found most station owners great, most sheds I’d stay here for the duration of the shed and go fishing, yabbying, pig hunting and sometimes I’d even help do some mustering. The last year I was up there I was very lucky to be able to keep working as I had a good reputation from all who I worked for. The run I was on ended early and when I headed in from the shed I just finished I made a call to a contractor in Blackall and he had a stand for me. There was 5 or 6 full teams with no work in longreach because there was no sheep to shear. A lot of station owners were selling their sheep and buying cattle as sheep were worth bugger all and the losses from the dingoes wasn’t helping them. It was some of the best times of my life. I’m a paraplegic now, I haven’t yet been able to get back into work yet and it’s coming up to be 10 years this year. You do remind me of some of the good characters I met when I was up there and the yarns they would tell me. I enjoy listening to your yarns and life experiences so keep doing what your doing. I would become a Patreon but the pension is barely enough to scratch my behind with but I’m not complaining as I’m very lucky that Australian can provide for people like myself. Cheers mate, Brad

Good on ya mate! I completely understand the comments about those folks extorting and attempting to force people to accept their views, warped agenda, and ideology.
