important to note that as you level up fishing or eat items that increase fishing level temporarily, the green fishing bar and cast distance get larger. this means over time you can get better quality fish and it becomes easier to catch lower quality fish. so if you really struggle with fishing, just keep practising until you level up or get some fishing buffs, such as trout soup from willy's for 250g.

I shake things up redecorating and adding rooms to the farm house. I like the new animal that becomes available after reaching Perfection. There’s using different weapons and re-rolling weapon stats. I like making different outfits. It’s easy to display and swap between them. These are all possible without mods. Then there’s mods but that’s in the want to play more category.

The best suggestion for me is to decorate Pelican Town. I never knew you could do that. I always thought the NPC will only desttroy items in their paths. or the items will be sent to lost and found box by the next day!

If you are bored try playing with mods. I have 160 and it’s basically endless content

I know about mods, but I have always preferred my main file to be vainilla (to prevent it from breaking if any mod stops working). I am doing absolutely everything I can do when it comes to collectables. Right now I'm focusing on getting all the weapons available in the game. I will do the same with boots, rings and hats eventually. I have my quarry full of crystalariums, a big shed decorated to look like an aquarium, a room in my house full of statues and different special items. I have every colour of frog available (love the addition of trinkets btw!). I have even made a save going the JoJa route only for the achievement - hated every minute of it lol. So after reaching perfection and more than 1k hours in the game, collecting all the stuff I can get is my main source of fun. The only stuff I will never have are the two achievements of the Prairie King game. I suck at it a dread it. So maybe the arcade machines will be the only items I won't get for my farm.

if youre bored in video game then either play something different or go do something productive. simple.

I have to question the amount of failures or chasing harder fish on the time and then the amount of perfects you miss out on. The training rod, especially at early levels, seems to level me up extremely quickly to about level 4-5 when the fiberglass rod becomes available. I also don’t hear much on the value of consumables or which ones to go for. I mean, details would kind of be good in the conclusion.

I have over 900 mods. I promise I am usually not bored

Whats the point of playing if you're bored of it

An obvious one is using mods if you can. Another is challange runs. Either where you challange yourself to achive more in less ingame or real life time than usual, or one where you change up your play style an focus on things that you don't usually do. For example one I have been thinking about recently was start a new game but start in a defferent season not spring. Or, since I tend to ignore frienship until late game I was thinking about one where I focus on getting high frienship early. I guess these are also not really things you can do on an old file, but hey, if you did everything there just isn’t much to do other than start a new save.

Does the training rod decrease your fishing xp? I wanna say it makes your catch bar a lvl or 2 higher but limits you to only base quality fish, but at lvl 1 fishing you weren't getting quality fish anyways, so it could help get the first few lvls with easier perfect catches out the gate then upgrade to the better rod that lets you use bait the next day like you did

Yes. I got to lvl 8 in the first week without any major fish bubbles, my main source of exp was after I reached lvl 5 and was able to get perfect catches/treasures chests comfortably. Ah and also got like 2-3 rainy days and lots of catfish bait from Willy.

Getting level ten and catching the Legend spring year 1 and putting it in a fish pond is straight up cracked

Well, if you wanna get technical, it is theoretically possible to get level 10 fishing on day 1 if you get bait and bobber from shaking trees like 15 times. But realistically if you clean up movement and use a seed that has some convienent bubble spots you could definitely get lv 10 fishing in 4 days

I saw a guy do it as set up for catching all the fish in a single game day he made lots of fish ponds and git xp from them

Now go for Legend ASAP and build a Fish Pond for it. The Legend Roe money will start rolling in.
