I love this river. It reminded me of Rotorua New Zealand. The fish are a stunted mess from bad management. Not like fish managed in New Zealand.❤

I had the beautiful experience of riding through Crystal and Lava Falls rapids in Martin's boat, rowed by another legend, Lew Steiger.

So I still have no idea what this boat is for after a lot of words said by this guy.

It's a sweep boat, used exclusively on the Middle Fork of the Salmon to transport the bulk of rafting gear downstream on commercial trips. But there's a history to these boats, as well: www.oars.com/blog/salmon-river-sweep-boat-life/

I can't understand why anyone would choose the 4-day trip over the 6-day. The 6-day trip is only a couple hundred dollars more than the 4-day trip, and you are getting a trip that is about 50% longer, time-wise. Pretty much a no-brainer if you ask me.
@OarsRafting2 ай бұрын
True, but the 4-day trip can be a great option for people short on time.

They're Vanguard inflatable kayaks. Not custom. Available in single and double versions.

Hey is that a closed cell foam core you’re using ? What benefits does it bring over marine play in a dory ?
@pdeilers112 ай бұрын
Yeah it looks like divynicell foam or similar. Interested to hear if it ends up lighter than wood given that the glass schedule would have to be heavier and any difference to how it rows.

I live in West Virginia, we never flipped rafts with someone hanging onto a thwart like that. Is that common, or was the customer just messing around?
@FrogSlime6 ай бұрын
I'll admit, im unsure myself, but I'd imagine it's just an easy way to go get the boat flipped, while also having someone already in, to assist in getting the other up into the boat after
