what's with he lawnmower / cicada / low flying baboon noise ...PS - this whisky rated very lowly for me, bottle colour was a first notice problem - will try your "overnight trick" - but shade of cresote (wood fence protector.- created from distillate of tar from wood. )

I just bought it at carrefour on sale, from €26 they had it at €10.90. I imagine it would sell little. I don't know how it turns out, but in the worst case, I'll leave it for the visit that mixes whisky with sodas.

I had an opportunity to tase GF12 just few months back and it blew me away. Now I stumbled upon a bundle GF12 + GF15 for price of a single bottle!!! Bundle arrived yesterday so I will do the tase test tonight. I am wondering if I can confirm your findings.

I am just new to wisky, I had my first monkey shoulder today and found it quite smooth but for me it was the aroma that was a bit lacking when comparing it to a glenfiddich which though was a bit sharper in taste has a totally beautiful smell

Barely a difference in price in the US. 50 or so for the 12 and 60 -62 for the 15 year.

Beautiful video! Why don't you guys try Bowmore 15 and Macallan 12 or Dalmore 12? I don't think you'll go back to Glenfiddich after trying these.

you are so right about the Dalmore its really amazing but if u go with the price I think the GF 12 is very acceptable plus its a great single malt scotch whiskey 2

Hi Guys, I agree the quality of the 15 year old Glenfiddich is better than the 12. However its never worth twice the price! I have today purchased a 15 year old Glenfiddich from Waitrose for £35.00 and that my friends is values. Tomorrow I will drive to the next closest branches to buy up their stock, if I'm not to late. Maybe you guys get stitched in the US of A - Best regards JH

Great video. I'm fairly new to Scotch and in love with the 12. I was debating on whether or not to get the 15, but this video has convinced me to explore the other single malt 12 year old Scotch before venturing to the 15.

Sound quality is poor - too much reverb/echo. Try moving the mic closer to your mouth. The music is distracting/irritating.

I normally buy something a bit higher in price such as a Craigellachie 13, dalmore 15 or a Scapa glansa. I was planning on getting a glenfiddich, but I'm just afraid it's not complex enough for my Palate.

@@singlemaltjack2410 In germany the 15y is regular 40€ incl. Tax. Startet with this whisky and its beside the Balvenie 12y one of my favorites in this price range :) need to test the 18y.

I'd personally avoid fibreglass canopies like the plague. They have terrible side access, low load bearing roofs, and don't keep dust out very well. My choice would be alluminum from Camp King or Ute Master. Yes they're pricey, but are worth it in my opinion.

Hi Kev. Yes definitely agree with you there! I had an aluminium canopy on my Navarro D40 and loved it. Check out episode 42.1 on that one. But my problem was that I didn't use it enough and didn't really love it as a daily driver. There are a few issues with the aluminium canopy, weight is centred too high, to much drag and uses too much fuel and the visibility out the back is terrible. Not the end of the world but like I said not the greatest for a daily driver if I'm not using it to the full potential. My plans are to start with the fibreglass canopy then move to the aluminium in a few years once I get a new DD. Cheers and thanks for.the comment!

@@singlemaltjack2410 it sounds like you had an on chassis canopy. The canopies I mentioned are mounted on top of your tub and don't suffer the same issues.

Thanks mate appreciate the welcome and the mod ideas! I love the look of the rival bar, but I think they only make them in alloy not steel. Really prefer the steel for kangaroos etc. Would you prefer the bfgs over the General Grabbers?

@@singlemaltjack2410 I understand the reservations about being alloy not steel, however if you look on Modrok and see rival bars in action it will change your name. With respect to the tyre question, more of a preference I think BFG KO2's seem to be a crowd favourite though.

Solera Vats are actually large tubs of whiskey that are never fully emptied. So the first fill of the Vat would have been all 15 year old whiskey, some of that got bottled and then they added another batch of 15 year old. So you never have whiskey that’s younger than 15, but a portion of the Vat from previous fills is much older whiskey.

100% Accurate. Cheers guys. Had read a lot of positive things about this Whisky. Cracked mine last night and thought I must have been missing something. You have absolutely nailed the review. Day 1. Sharp and harsh on the palate. Day 2. Couple drops of water. BOOM! Much Easier to drink and much smoother.

Thanks for the comments and feedback.. couldnt agree more, definitely need a day or so to open up. However I was still a bit disappointed as my expectations of this whisky were skye high. I sampled one of the first batches of the white whisky coming off the still in 2015. Cheers Daniel
