When you get to the end of the pier and go left instead of right, you will find Frederiksted beach to swim at right there. Don't need to walk a mile to find a beach as your video heading is about finding a beach.

Wife and I have been on several Princess cruises but never made it to their private island somehow. We don’t sail on Princess any more, but I do miss their Movies Under the Stars. Another really well done video Phil. Enjoyed watching you guys.

Nice job with this video Phil. My wife and I once loved sailing with Princess, but that changed during Covid. We have sailed about twenty times and our worst two cruises were on Princess. Also, my interactions with their land based team were atrocious. They lost my business.

Good morning David. That’s a real shame. Our first ( and only ) experience was not a good one either but that was 15 years ago. This time we really enjoyed it. The sunset verandas on the Edge class ships are incredible. Did our Vancouver to Hawaii in one of them and without hesitation can say best cruise we have done.

I've always been curious about the inwards facing rooms, they sound both fun and quirky, as well as inconvenient to me, especially when there's people on the opposite balconies, or with their curtains open and they forget... It's like sitting on an apartment building's balcony, it seems. Just one in a very busy and noisy city. Not the most calming of atmospheres, I don't think, but I imagine that if you enjoy the more lively atmosphere then this would be quite perfect. A shame that the bed was that bad. Sleeping in the same bed as your spouse does not sound like too much of a luxury to me, especially on what I assume to already be a rather expensive trip. Personally I think I might prefer to be on the oceanside, but that's more because I most likely would be the person to accidentally flash the neighbors across the park.

🫣definitely have to be aware of people across the way. 😂 Central Park can be quite peaceful at times but overall I think you have the right impression. Nothing beats the ocean view but if the price is right these rooms can be a good value. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🛳️👍🏻

I like that the ship is so large with so many indoor dining and amusement areas that you can take a cruise without ever having to see the ocean!

Thanks for this. Definitely a good choice if you want some fresh air in the room. WOW, Lots of space on that balcony! I agree with not a whole lot of privacy but I could get over that for the right price. Sucks about the bed being so hard. Overall nice looking room.

Pretty cool location! I guess you really have to be like the continuous noise of Central Park though to go on the balcony though. At least it seemed almost silent until you opened the balcony doors.

@@breadyegg there are times when it’s very quiet. Especially in the morning. If you watch the daytime footage listen carefully and you can hear the piped in birds. 😎 These rooms are usually a good value especially if an ocean view isn’t in your budget. Cheers 🛳️👍🏻

First time cruiser here. Going on NCL and not happy with how they show what it will cost. You pay what you think is your fees, and then they hit you with additional fees a few weeks later to pay the crew. The full amount needed should be all upfront. Seems really deceptive. Is it like that for all cruise lines? Thanks.

Hi Kevin. Congratulations on your first cruise. I think you’re referring to the gratuities (additional fees?) It’s typical for most cruise lines to charge these separately. Either on board or pre-cruise unless it’s noted in your fare that gratuities are included in your promo. For instance… Virgin Voyages states in their fare that crew gratuities are included. Often they are also included in a “package” like Princess Cruise Lines “Princess plus & Princess Premier“ Holland America will sometimes included them in certain promos as “Crew Appreciation”. Otherwise they are always extra and whoever you booked your cruise with should have informed you of such. If you booked your own cruise then you really have to read the fine print. But again, this is standard practice. If you don’t want to pay the crew gratuities they can usually be removed at the customer service desk on board but be aware that these gratuities are dispersed directly to the crew as part of their pay.
