I love the look of it, boxed pressed with the green grey and gold. I’m down to try that. We need long live the queen review! I want a real win for Caldwell even though I’ve never had their stuff lol.

Recently tried this stick and was underwhelmed. Found there to be a dry wood taste to be far more prominent than the nut flavor. The finish on it was a little long and dry for me and found it to be pretty bland throughout. Didn't get a whole lot on the retrohale over the palate until the pepper started to ramp up at the end. Actually prefer the Perdomo Sun Grown or the Champagne 10th Anniversary to this one. Appreciate your review though!

Great vid, do you agree that the idea of tasting distinct "notes" is flawed because the complexity of flavours from the tobacco, wrapper, binder, and filler creates too many overlapping variables? Either Cuban and New World cigars taste different, or they don’t. If people claim to taste the same notes like coffee, leather etc, in both, it suggests these flavours are subjective, not inherent. The mix of tobacco components lead to unique flavours, not uniform ones, making the concept of consistent "tasting notes" unreliable.
@HBCigars2 күн бұрын
I guess that's a more philosophical question. Certain blends and wrappers do indeed have distinct universal tastes for the most part. At the end of the day it tastes like fermented tobacco just like wine tastes like fermented grapes. But that does not mean those notes don't resemble other flavors we can use for context.

I'm working my way up the premium cigar ladder. Since I became a cigar smoker prices have skyrocketed, maybe 12 years ago. I haven't gotten serious about cigar smoking until recently. I recently got a shipment of Oliva Serie V Melanio. Two 10 cigar boxes. Good mild cigar. Unfortunately all 20 cigars were bad. Wrappers peeling off and faded. Returned and exchanged them for Placencia Alma Fuente cigars. Haven't tried them yet. Aging them in my humidor for a while.

You are correct. The best cigar I have ever smoked. Pure delight. Side note. Have you heard of the Raching cigar humidor? It looks great and the reviews are very positive. The MON 2800 with gold finish looks fantastic.
