So happy to hear about your inspiring project! And it was fun to get a glimpse inside the room where you make it all happen. I'm a Middlebury grad '92 and have very fond memories of the Carillon music ringing across the campus. Ian Moore ('94) and I were back on campus last month with our son who is applying for admission in 2025. We were all delighted to hear the magical bells again during our walk about! Thank you.

We should contact the Adirondack Regional Chambers Of Commerce in Upstate New York to mention Biomass Gasification in my local community. Going GREEN 💚.

Saw the reference to your plant in Jeff Gibbs Planet of the Humans, and thought I would do some back ground research- very cool powerplant.

Amazing to me how people thought to make "paper" out of animal skin. Thank you for sharing.

A terrific school - has sure grown since my time there in the 70's. Language schools and sports still rank high. Go Blue.

The language schools are not for the faint of heart!! They are very challenging, but worth every minute!!! I was lucky enough to attend for four summers. I wish I could go back!!!

Atri, thanks. I miss Bread Loaf and hope to work there, in the post office and desk, at some point. I appreciate your message and have received racist messagest from the lisaepstein2000 person. Ignore this person. She is why Israel has such a bad name. Too many folks like her hide behind their keyboard an their own unhappiness. Thanks so much.

@smms92 That really depends on the language you're applying for, but it certainly isn't impossible for an undergraduate to get in. I attended the language schools twice (once for Arabic and once for Russian) as an undergraduate. Lately, I know that Arabic is pretty damn hard to get into because of the high demand. So, the admission process for Arabic is a bit more competitive. Other schools still go by a rolling admission system. Go for it though. Middlebury is a great time.

How hard is it for an undergraduate student to get into the school? I would love to attend it this upcoming summer

There is no safe level of dioxin exposure. Check your current level of air pollution in the Am Lung Assoc' s State of the Air Report 2009 . Biomass plants worsen air quality which causes more heart attacks, asthma, strokes, cancer , infant mortality, & shorten lifespans. Air pollution is a risk factor for breast cancer in women; African American infants are more likely to die from air pollution impacts than white kids. The bottom line is that everyone is at risk from air pollution.

you've swallowed the hook - spit it out! they are not burning "wood waste"; they are burning trees which if left growing would capture carbon. Burning is not the answer. Don't fall for the forestry-promoted hype.

The trees are replanted, when done properly we get a carbon neutral situation. Using gasifier helps to make the process sustainable. Beautiful idea.

it's not carbon neutral. Pity the poor students who will suffer from the emissions.
