Great review! This movie was such a surprise, i love that it is compelling people to talk about, that means something. BTW, are you related to Cam from the @CamandZay reaction channel, you are so similar looking in a big brother way thats its crazy uncanny.

The 50s were about adaptation and reaction primarily with studios dealing with SCOTUS decision and consent degree that forced divestnent of vertical integration system. The issue in 2024 is more the future of revenue flows and systems. The studios don't really need theaters. They can make money through streaming services and licensing to network, cable, streaming. Now all the studios need to do is divest themselves of the streaming services they started which is costing them millions and simply license films to Netflix and Hulu.

There was more than money involved in wanting to break out of the studio system and become a free agent. There was a greater opportunity to choose projects to become involved with rather than accept your fate to be cast in whatever picture the studio thought was a convenient (i.e. formulaic) vehicle to stick you into. Artistic merit and professional reputation are meaningful to some people.

I grew up in the 50's. Believe me, the movie industry today is a farce. Endless sequels, untalented writers, producers,, production staff, and 100's of millions of dollars in loses that would closed many studios way back when.

Want breadlines and prices higher than they already are? Want housing out of reach for young Americans just starting out? Want to keep homeless Americans on the street while putting up others who broke the law to get in (a slap in the face to those who came legally) to housing? Want less freedom? Keep voting for communist kamala. kamala has stated she will take any patents she feels the government can use, yet any government is a lesson in how to waste money and drive prices up. Less government is better for all. Do your own research, project 2025 isn't a Trump thing, he has disavowed it. Stop listening to MSM lies. I lost any respect for Democrats when they fail to go on press tours, answering questions that are not on a teleprompter. We need to vote like we mean it!! Blue no matter who is a dumb way to vote. Voting against the other person is a dumb way to vote. If kamala can't talk how she is going to fix the issues she and biden have caused, and only rely on "but the other guy is bad", that is not someone that should be considered for a vote. She has been the unofficial candidate for weeks and has yet to answer questions that are not scripted. I, like many were never for the red, but these past few years have opened up mine and many others. I am no longer woke, but I am now awake to see how bad a kamala presidency would be.

Sounds like Paula hasn’t read enough Dickens.. Bleak House, Dombey & Son, and other novels contain well drawn female characters; and, until Nancy in Oliver Twist, no author had explored a prostitute’s life.

Bernstein was doing a dramatic acting routine, jumping up and down like a clown. He was not doing his job as a conductor, which is to show the audience what the symphony sounds like. I posted a video on my KZbin channel showing how he took a wrecking ball to Beethoven's symphonies manipulating the sound to make whole sections sound noisy and terrible. The press treated him like a sacred cow. Everything he touched turned to gold, even though his conducting included vandalism.
