I read somewhere that the effects don’t actual happen, but if the aura of their form is strong enough (like with the hashira), it can be felt, and even seen by those around them.

@@grievingstereo8527 It's a bit of a generalization, but once someone uses alcohol to cope with grief, its hard for them to stop. At the present point of the story, it seems to be a decade or more since his wife has died, but Rengoku's father still hasn't quit the bottle, and is instead disinterested in the whole Demon Slayer Corps. Rengoku's dream may not be 100% what his father believes, but see how little his father seems to care about Rengoku becoming a Hashira. That shows Rengoku's father no longer cares about the Demon Slayer Corps and only lives for the bottle, despite him being a great Hashira who has likely saved countless lives.

For people who don't know, Cayna was reincarnated into the MMO she was playing. But 200 years seemed to have passed. So, much has changed. She took out that much money because in her time in the MMO, buying an item would involve thousands and thousands of in-game currency - which is a common sight in any MMO. However, now 200 years had passed, the economy in this world doesn't work the way she remembered anymore.
