This isn't Hon. Fanetupouvava'u. She lives in Europe. This is Hon. Frederica. And she's still considered a Princess as most non-Tongans don't understand the system of 'Eiki.

The beautiful gal following the princess, what's her role?. I think she's pretty enough to be a model overseas to enjoy life and she's very young to be a servant. She deserve better.

If you're not Tongan then your view is invalid because it's not call slavery but rather they do it out of respect!

She is from a chiefly clan, so her role in the lakalaka is to "protect" the Princess' rank from the commoners.

I think it’s time for Tonga to be republic. The country needs a makeover, money given to Tonga for the restoration and cleanup after the devastation of the tsunami, where is it???? You visit Tonga today it’s a shambles and so behind. When you compare Tonga to Samoa and Fiji it’s still stuck in the last century. Time to move on from being a Monarch, it seems the Royal family are thriving but not the country.
@NSp-sk5mn20 күн бұрын
you do know how tiny tonga is compared to fiji and samoa right
@Leesmac19 күн бұрын
@@NSp-sk5mn the size of Tonga compared to Samoa and Fiji is not what is holding Tonga back from developing economically, Tonga has just as much potential to be as successful as those islands especially in Tourism and business. They just have a very stagnant and old system that needs to be changed. The Government is allowing Chinese businesses to take over because they are more concerned about that kind of money coming in and therefore running the country to the ground. They should be encouraging their own people to flourish in businesses, especially Tongans overseas to come back and be entrepreneurs in the island and build it up! Something big has to change. First thing the Monarchy.
@akapekafa571719 күн бұрын
Tonga will be a Kingdom until the end of time. The people of Tonga are not worried about how developed the country is, the way of life in Tonga is what matters. If development happens later rather than sooner, so be it. The majority of people in Tonga also have great love and respect for the royal family, for they have given the people of Tonga land to cultivate and build on. We see how Samoa and Fiji have been overrun by outsiders. Tonga is for Tongans, and we love our country how it is.
@Leesmac19 күн бұрын
@@akapekafa5717 I think it’s time that Tongans take their rose coloured glasses off about their Kingdom and realise that their country is slowly being overrun by the Chinese and that there is a concerning methamphetamine epidemic happening right beneath their noses. Whilst it’s been great having a Monarchy for many years, I truly believe the Tsunami was a wake up call and something has to give. There’s not much to cultivate from the land since the devastating tsunami, nothing has been done to fix the damage. What have the royals and government done with the money donated??? We are living in different times now, Tonga need to look to the future especially for the young ones. I believe Samoa and Fiji, whilst they are not perfect, have a much brighter future economically.
@Leesmac17 күн бұрын
@@akapekafa5717 that’s nice and fantastic in a perfect world, but it’s time to take off your rose coloured glasses and see that it’s not benefiting the country, there’s a lot of corruption in government and the Chinese are slowly taking over the country.
