Sephiroth: Black winged version of the big white wing that Angeal has.

I missed this stream cause I slept through most of the evening into the morning, but this is what I've been waiting for. Ever since you started Remake, fell in love with Cloud and Tifa, and started playing the OG the Lifestream sequence and this scene is what I've been waiting for you to get here. A lot of fans think they had sex that night based on some supposed deleted dialogue and scene of them leaving out of a chocobo pen together, but honestly even if they didn't you can't denied the implied romantic and intimate undertones in the scene between them. It's peaakkkkkk

Also, in case you haven't picked up on this, something particularly tasty to consider: Tifa's last name is "Lockhart", a clear reference to how her fatal character flaw (until she overcomes it in the lifestream sequence) is to keep everything bottled up inside (locked in her heart) and let it eat away at her rather than confronting problems head on. She does it when going along with the inconsistencies of Cloud's story, she does it when being afraid to confess her feels to Cloud, and she does it when she gets shut down by Barrett every time she questions Avalanche's actions. Subtly the best written character in the game, IMO.

Just a heads up about optional dialogue you missed, to give you a missing piece of the lore puzzle: If you did talk to the Elders before heading to the campfire, one of them tells you that professor Gast used to visit this place all the time and drink with them, but one day he appeared in a nervous panic muttering something about Jenova not being an Ancient and making a terrible mistake, then he never appeared again.

Hey, just catching up on these streams now and wanted to give a heads up, since it sounds like a lot of your recurring theories hinged on this potential misunderstanding. I think you might have misread the awkward grammar of that Nibelheim flashback sequence. Sephiroth says: "Normal members of SOLDIER are humans that have been showered with Mako. You're different from the others, but still human." I don't think that's intended to imply that Cloud (or actually, Zack, now that we know the truth) is different from other members of SOLDIER. I think he's just saying that as a normal SOLDIER, Zack is different from other regular humans, but not to the extreme of these Mako-baked monsters. Unlike them, he at least remains human. It can be argued that Cloud DID end up being different/a unique case, since he ended up being the sole successful experiment, but Sephiroth wouldn't have known that at the time, nor would he have said this to Cloud, nor did Cloud even get experimented on yet. Just thought that'd be worth clearing up. Great playthrough, btw.

The open mouths weren't in the original-- The PC version misguidedly decided to add them because in the original, they have no mouths. In all the console versions that were released after it, it's gone.

That last 30 to an hour was a real fever dream literally. I was becoming progressively more sick through the evening so I went to bed early (around 10 or so) and i was in and out of sleep through the whole junon cannon bit to finding Cloud again. On the bright side I can rewatch the VOD and next stream you should go through my favorite part of the OG game

Just as an fyi, materia of a higher tier sells for more if you don't need it anymore, choco lure you DO absolutely need for chocobo breeding later, especially if you want to get the best summon materia; also maxed materia splits into a new materia of the same kind when it hits max, which is helpful when grinding so you can get multiple materia of different kinds for different characters

Arryn, for the love of all that's holy, listen to chat when they suggest waiting to get an item or enemy skill, OG FF7 is not a game you can just bull rush your way through, you have to grind a bit or you will just die *all the time* when you're under leveled later

No one seemed to mention it in chat but the 4 cats when you are sneaking into Jessie's house is kind of a joke easter egg for the group. Jessie and Biggs being the smaller cats with Wedge being the chubby cat and then the black cat is Cloud sneaking in.

I really hope you will play Crisis Core at some point (between OG and Rebirth would be best) or at least watch the story

Have I miss heard or you were saying that your playing the OG FF7 at the same time? Didn't you said that your planned to play it after Remake? (of and you might need to play Crisis Core before Rebirth btw. Or at least know the story and the characters)

Howdy. Whenever you beat the game you should check out the resolution scenes for Aerith and Barrett as well. Remake had a hidden mechanic that gave you an optional scene that determined who showed up during the garden scene depending on who you favored. The quests done, dialogue options and who you picked to wake up first in the sewers determined it.. Only way to get Barrett's resolution scene was you had to basically be an ass to Aerith and Tifa and ignore their quests haha. Rebirth also has optional scenes for the characters but they make it a lot more obvious who you get and easier to replay and unlock the others after beating the game.

I've watched a good handful of p3r playthroughs so far, and yours is being one of the most fun! P3 is such a special game for me, seeing someone else go through the story with the same amount of care is lovely Can't wait to keep watching, and I'll probably go to your p3p playthrough next haha, You keep mentioning how you felt for certain moments and I really want to check that out!
